Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Judging by the notifications I receive of the activity of others, mine may also have been for some time ago, I often have a notification that names 3 or more members who have replied to this sub-forum within an hour but no such posts exist. Maybe they were inserted retrospectively earlier in the sequence after some sort of approval process, however, the notification appears long before the post emerges in those cases. I use a few other forums, all on automotive themes. None have the somewhat unique structure and controls of this one. It took me several weeks to fathom out how it worked when I joined - even after studying the rules and instructions. It remains as an excellent forum for the cancer wounded or affected (carers). Just a few wrinkles to iron out by the lads and lasses in the engine room would make it excellenter (sorry, Gill across the water ). xxx
I have nodded off once or twice this evening, only to be woken up by the silly 500ml bag which fills up in 20-30 minutes. I usually have a 2 litre bag night and day. Obviously, I do not let it fill up if I'm doing any walking. 800ml max for that to remain comfortable. Still running red. I can't be bothered at the moment to go upstairs and fit a larger bag. I suspect I'll be rather snoozy tomorrow. xxx
Hello Ray (RayMK )
Talking catheters takes me back as I had an indwelling catheter for over 10 months. Apart from the odd leaky leg bag (wet socks and shoes) my issues were the 2 litre night bags.
I would connect a 2 litre one up at night and stick it on the stand but being one for a couple of pints with my mates we got fed up with it filling up and dropping off the stand at 3.30am with a thud and waking us both up - sorted with 3 large bulldog clips.
However I have only just been forgiven 4 years later for the night I took off my leg bag to connect the 2 litre night bag to my catheter but failed to push the connector in properly. At 1.00am I was rudely waken by Mrs Millibob complaining she was being marinaded in urine and just what was I thinking. Thank god for plastic under sheets! and the fact she loves me!!
I miss my catheter - I now have to get up 2/3 times a night for a physical needs break (that's a wee in English!).
Kind regards - Brian.

Morning all
Amandas I didn't get that nervous around other people feeling, I was just careful especially with the timing of seeing the little snot monsters (grandkids) at the best time in the 3 week cycle. Your confidence will return.
Gill H Julie's hearts are back
I was awake for hours last night after a bit of a stressful day yesterday, hopefully today will be better.

Morning Amanda ️
You've super impressed me with your early shopping venture! Was it a solo effort or did Glyn go with you?
I'd love to do the same but there's obstacles to negotiate, such as OH not being up as early as I am and then time spent to get him ready to face the world. I do like him to go with me though, as it's important he gets out and about and gets walking!
About getting nervous hon, and I can totally understand you feeling that way because you need to protect yourself, but I never feel like that. As far as I know my immunity hasn't been compromised, so I'm oblivious to others around me. I'm lucky that I don't get nervous about any much anything.
Hey sweetheart, the 2 months since you completed treatment seems to have flown by, so here's to celebrating your first year out!
You have a lush day with your family and stay cosy. Big cwtches and lots of love xxx
Morning Helen
Sorry to hear about yesterday's downer; M&D related issues or just one of those days?
Yep, definitely strive to help today along with positivity and maybe catch up with some snooze
Oh, before I toddle off to empty some more drawers, I watched part of a Christmas film in the early hours and thought of you... have you started with them yet?
xxx
