Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Morning Gill
No need to reply and that's an order, not an option, as I know your chauffeur will be picking you up soon.
Just to wish you good luck today and hoping everything goes as well as possible You'll be fab and sending encouraging hugs xxx
Hi Dogdays,
Are you a Gill as well? That will scramble my chemo brain for sure! Julie xxx
Morning Shimmers
Confession time - I was awake during most of the busy early doors chat, (smacks hand) but didn't dare join in as a smidgen of common sense warned it would be a silly move. It turns out it would have been as I got a good 3.5 hours unbroken kip, so I'm up and ready for another day.
As per yourself and Ray it takes us two here at least an hour plus before we can venture out for a simple shopping expedition - OH 90% of that, muggins the remaining 10%. He looks dapper, me looks gorgon.
Anyway hon, hopefully you're in the land of nod but I'm kettle bound first, then bath, then prep, then OH up. We like to live on the edge.
Have a good day you, and normal service will be back on later xxx
Morning Julie ️
Best of best of everything for today my lovely. A couple of these for starters ✓✓
Aye, another Gill on the boards but ROI Gill seems much more sensible than West Yorkshire silly, er Gill.
Before I dash off, just want you to know that you're doing amazing work in there and well done your OH for boosting the WiFi. He loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keep the faith Jules and sending you careful hugs (must mind the picc line) and oodles of love xxx
Morning Ray, for when you look in
Good luck for today chief, and hope there's no Domaine de la Romanee-Conti knocking about. (£35K per bottle red)
Please let us know how things went when you have time, and hopefully only super swift OUCH moments on the cards.
Sending soothing hugs and hot chocolate for later xxx
Oh thank you Julie, I love flowers
OH has had his bloods done, so we're just finishing off our second breakfast in a café
Aw hon, I'm not having a tough time, the only thing that's tough is my old boots - work it out My concerns are all for OH, the gang here and the little group over yonder, so no worries.
Righto pet, we've eaten up so Tesco's ahoy! You take care lovely, and maybe get your knitting needles out. Are you good with them btw? There's nowt nicer than home-knit garments.
Loads of love hon xxx
Been knitting since I was 7, my grandma taught me and I remember doing at school too (little square with turquoise wool).
I prefer to knit for others, don't always like what I knit for myself. Just finished knitting 6 baby jumpers for a colleague who's having twins (time on my hands at the moment!!)
Taught myself to crochet in lockdown. Can only make blankets as not quite mastered following a toy pattern yet (people tell me it's easy!)
Photo is a blanket I made (pink/red) ages ago and blue/grey is one I'm making for my brother.
Have a good day Gill xxx

Hi again Julie
Oh those blankets are gorgeous and you've got a talent all right
Ask OH to keep you supplied with wool.
It was my mam who taught me how to knit when I was about 8, but all I could produce were straggly scarves, with plenty of dropped stitches, and I couldn't get the hang of casting on and off. Classic fail, so all my girls' baby cardies came courtesy of mam/nana.
You are clearly much more resourceful and prolific than my feeble offerings, and the twin's mum will be made up!
Oh, just remembered. I could do cork work, the dolly thing with 4 little nails in the top of her head and a hole where the knitted spiral came out. I don't think there'd be much demand on the market somehow...erm, yeh? Probably not so the nation's spared.
Carry on Knitting, starring Julie and Sid James. Yeah xxx
