Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Morning Gill ️
No! Don't give up hon, as the site does indeed have glitches and particularly during the twilight hours others here could maybe give you pointers on how to tackle those.
Sorry I missed you earlier but I got off to sleep at a reasonable time, spurred on with the thought that we're going to visit my eldest this morning and OH's care routine needs to be done first.
So, I'll have to crack on but hope you'll feel better soon and definitely enjoy your stew A fab meal for a chilly autumn day.
Hopefully chat later hon, and you take care. Hugs xxx
After editing, press reply then press the refresh circular arrow at the very top of the screen. I hope that makes sense.

Afternoon Helen we've just got home.
Well done on getting M&D for their jabs - ✓ off the list.
It was very windy with pelty rain overnight here, but music to my ears cos I'm different ️
Just looked and there's no circular arrow on a phone device - shucks.
Have a good day y'all xxx
Afternoon Safeways
My OH has depression but it never affects his sleep, as he gets plenty throughout the night and always has an afternoon nap.
I'm assuming stress contributes towards my poor sleep pattern - mind racing, unable to settle until exhaustion kicks in and then I'm out like a light for a couple of hours. I've only taken a solitary sleeping pill in my life and experienced a sleep paralysis episode. Never again!
Apart from your sleep issues, hoping you're doing ok hon xxx
How are we all doing?
I hope lilymoo you have managed to speak on the phone with someone to ease your worries and get support. To work out some things to help you cope better.
Unfortunately the site is working through some updates and it seems especially at night right now the site is extra clunky.
Currently it is difficult to know whether a lack of posts means those that were chatting have managed to sleep or whether technical issues are preventing a smooth interaction or even preventing folk getting back in to the site.
Those around overnight are just like you hun with difficult or erratic sleep patterns and health or care issues which ebb and wane. It is unfortunate that no one was around or able to be online when you needed to chat.
Have you explored the blogs and other bits of the site that you can peruse in the dark hours?
Cheers
Hi. We understand that there are many factors involved in getting to sleep and staying asleep and which determine whether sleep is refreshing or enough.
We know there are some things which generally help or hinder most people.
Trying to improve your own sleep may take a while and involve trying a few different things.
It doesn't help if you have daytime commitments that you can't swerve, like work or children and care duties.
Sleeping pills help some people. Some find them useful as a very short term intervention. There are different types so it may be that you tolerate some better than others.
How long did you try yours for? You may take a few days to adjust.
I also appreciate you wanting a no pill approach. I have fibromyalgia which means sleep is scant, broken and unrefreshing with vivid dreams. Pills which mean that on waking I am fatigued and brain fogged are an absolute no no as those are two of my major existing issues.
Before your health issues, what was your sleeping pattern like? Are you getting support with your stress?
Cheers
Just to add, I couldn't find the 'make a new post' button on a phone screen either.
Try pulling your screen down... above the post which is the first in the string on the current screen is a green banner box.
It actually appears under the stickied preamble which explains the purpose of the thread which isn't visible in a phone screen unless you know where to look.
The number of functioning emojis is limited and personally I don't like the style of the faces as they appear on my screen so I use very few.
Cheers
