Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Your talk of chocolate when I was wondering what to have for supper reminded me that I had a choc ice in the freezer. It has been now been consumed, closely followed by a currant scone. No doubt I'll discover where a bit of chocolate shrapnel went when I switch the main light on. Halloween coming already?? Must get the vat of boiling oil set up above the front door. xxx
Hello ShimmeringUnicorn
There are quite a few improvements and site updates going on at present so you will find some things not quit "as they were" and we hope the changes are an improvement and make the Community easier to navigate and more robust.
My day : Tuesday - Crawl out of bed, shower, coffee, morning medication, check my groups on the Community and deal with anything needing attention, open the office (I run an accountancy practice) alter a few 3's to 8's and 7's to 9's to make things balance, look after a grandchild, more coffee, lunch, see clients, check the Community again, more coffee, afternoon grandchild care, more coffee, evening dog walk, make tea for me & Mrs M, evening medication, wash up, watch England at football, glass (or 2) of wine, check the Community, let the dog out (and back in) bed!!
That's my week Monday to Friday - not bad for a retired 71 year old.
Weekends are different - they involve Football, Food Shopping, Beer and more Beer along with pub dog night and football on TV (oh and checking on you lot!!).
The above isn't including the 14 weeks holidays I have had this year - well I am semi-retired! .
Kind regards - Brian

The thing is Ray - I have seen so many people retire and do NOTHING with their life and just go downhill! (or to the pub). My mum and dad did it - and just wasted away!.
I have plenty of interests, can still put in a 50 hour week working if I chose - all the children (4) live within 25 miles of us and I do have a great social life.
We even have a dog (greyhound) who is low maintenance - but he gets me out and keeps me active.
Yes sometimes i struggle to fit things into my diary, but being busy keeps my mind active and to be honest I love life - even when I go to bed (shortly) I will read my book for at least quarter of an hour. I always say I am a "lucky boy" and to be happily married for 47 years and have a great family (yes we have had issues like everyone else) but life is good,
Kind regards - Brian.

See this is why some of us don't get much done. The universe's finite supply of 'get stuff done' serum is heavily oversubscribed by those with an overactive 'can fit that in' gland'
Go you! Lots of folk at my craft group are in their 80 's and 90 's and have a diverse, packed week including childcare and leave me shuffling through their dust when they sprint off to the next thing!
Cheers
That's the spirit!
I love the laundry pod TV ad's tag line 'Keep away from children'. Can't help shouting 'Yeah! Orrible, nasty, little things!'
Cheers
