Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • This place has been so quiet... hopefully it's tech frustration. Does Ray sometimes take a break?

    Cheers

  • Yes, sometimes long ones but it's more noticeable as he's been very active of late.

It could be glitches putting folk off. It annoys me but won't stop me, though but xxx

  • At club bingo the other day I discovered Scoots first job was an apprentice butcher so I looked up what he would have earned and the price of fish n chips, a flat cap, beer, Brylcreem, ferret and whippet.

There is a granny sits by herself as son on Committee so I asked her what her first job was. You made me think of this. She left school, in London, and went to work in a cracker factory. Having placed the paper, the bar came down and banged her leg every time. She said to friend 'I can't be putting up with this.' pal said 'I am going home' so she went too.

I asked what her mother said and she looked thoughtful before saying 'My mother was alright... but my father ... wasn't happy!' Joy

    Cheers

  • Would he usually say he wasn't going to be around for a bit or just disappear?

    I will try this

      hope you are doing ok

    Cheers

  • Omg Flushed the poor ol' lass. Well when you've reached those heights no wonder pater wasn't happy Smile

  • You read my mind. Oh forgot to mention. The dentist I paid to see who referred me to community services (clinic) has had a reply saying I don't meet referral criteria!

    Nyt, sweet dreams

  • I hope that doesn't mean a massive delay on treatment? Confused

Ok hon, night night and sleep well Zzz xxx

  •     notifications are saying you are around but can't see you. Hope you are ok, nyt

  • It didnt work on my phone, saying Kez was here Shimmers, so I hope she's ok as well.

I've just thought...I turned 68 a couple of hours ago. How old is that! Joy xxx

  • Morning Gill and Shimmers. I'm still around. Have been posting a bit in my 'home' forum. I had also noticed this place had gone into a quieter patch.

Happy birthday Gill BirthdayCake.  To me, 68 seems like yesterday. The snag is I'm nearly 77. It's accelerating. I have been following your moving ambitions. I hope something which ticks boxes is in your grasp soon.

Shimmers: Not so good news regarding dental attention. Can you just turn up at the preferred dental hospital as a dental emergency? If the aching is under control, try to enjoy the reprieve until you can sort something out and continue to amass courage.

I've had a referral to Urology for a TULA procedure on 16th November. This resulted from my review with Urology last week. If they find something they can zap with a laser, it may reduce the frequency of my haematuria events. It's an out patient procedure similar to a flexible cystoscopy but with additional bits and bobs that they can pass down the camera and flushing scope tubes. Anaesthetic gel is used, not anything stronger. Will probably have a single dose antibiotic jab on the day.

My new curtains and matching cushions are due for delivery today. I'll let you know whether my colour choice works. I can change them if necessary. They are returnable, ready made items.   Ray xxx
