Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Mel.  Eddie's sensible and probably asleep.  I'm neither of those, so if you fancy a chat I'm wide awake xxx

  • Morning all

Another early morning for me, I've had my first cuppa and watched an episode of Easties.

Today I'll be packing clothes into the motorhome for our next trip. Only 4 more sleeps until we go Relaxed

  • Morning Helen.

I woke about twenty to three but couldn't get back off. Absolutely bonkers!  I've got Now 70s on the telly as I like songs from the era - they've not helped to soothe me back off though.  That's fantastic your hols so near now - I'm excited for you! You're a lucky gal.

I may as well get the kettle on as I doubt there's any sleep in me yet. Hugs xxx

  • Morning Gill and Helen and anyone else awake early. Just boiled the kettle and that’s my day officially started!

Mel-I’ve seen the last few posts and you said you wanted to join the head and neck group, so if you click on this link I’ve made here it will take you right there-

    Head and Neck Cancer Forum

You need to be a member of the group to start a new post, and there will be a banner across the bottom of the page you just need to click on to do this. I’m not sure what your own diagnosis was but I notice you said you hadn’t it processed it yet, and it might help you talking about it in the head and neck group if you’ve had that type of cancer.

Helen, you are so lucky to be able to get away in your motorhome-if we win the lottery buying a motorhome might even be first on the list before a bungalow! We did a tour of the South Island in New Zealand in a camper van and it was a fabulous time. I’d love do have the freedom to do more of that kind of travelling. Have a wonderful time!

I’ve got a video call to look forward to later with my eldest daughter so will get to wave and blow kisses to my little granddaughter-looking forward to that.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Sarah xx

  • Morning Sarah.

Wow. That must be brilliant, to look back on the New Zealand holiday!  Yep, win the lottery so you can do it again, and then buy the bungalow to come home to.  It's nice to dream, isn't it?  I'd love a motorhome but I don't drive and OH isn't able to take it up again yet, but I doubt he'd be able to manage one of those monsters.  One of the smaller, compact numbers would be nice.  Time to put my dream hat on.

Enjoy the video call to the max!

    Hugs to all xxx

PS I'm missing my favourite night owl, Annette xx

Thanks. We love the motorhome life.

  • Can you drive it Helen?  xxx

  • I don't drive.

  • Ditto.  I did take lessons about thirty years ago, but wasn't very good so packed it in.  I've kept my old green provisional as a keepsake. xxx
