Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Getting old is indeed utter rubbish. It has confirmed my views held since my mid 40s when I used to remark at the absolute folly of colleagues who spent their days hating almost every day at work while also counting their days to retirement. I did my best to enjoy work and I'm trying to enjoy this falling apart phase as well. Many such colleagues retired then were gone within 10 years. A tragic waste of attitude, but we are all different. Maybe it gave them a kick, moaning about everything instead of being constructive. I want a pint of Hook Norton real ale on my birthday, in a pub similar to the one I described a few days ago. May have to be a half. Not sure I'm strong enough to lift a pint now! xxx
Evening Shimmers. Have you found some of the energy that was lacking a day or so ago? I hope so. Does the B12 give you a boost, assuming it was for you? xxx
I started replying to Shimmer's post and was immediately hamstered Ray, then they wouldn't let me reply to yours and I had to come out and back in again.
Anyway, your post made me laugh and especially about your falling apart phase. I've washed up on that shore already so went to the pantry for a bag of chocolate wafers bought from a £1 shop. I need a boost.
Seriously yummy but now the hamsters have got to work I'm resigned to playing hokey cokey yet again. It was fine earlier xxx
Ooh if we are being philosophical then it's not just age that can be rubbish.
Other stuff can utterly pull the rug from under you, rob you of the life you had, the life you had worked for and had envisaged.
Can be health, or a spanner that someone rams in the works etc
Hopefully, when a huge wave has wiped us out and dumped us several feet further along the beach... we shake the grit and damp salt from our eyes, cough and splutter and see what is possible from wherever we are, rather than mourn where we were.
Cheers
Good stuff Shimmer - sounds like our lives and that's why I've decided to do something proactive instead of going berserk almost every day.
Does ranting and raving burn calories or is it fiction? I suppose sticking to a healthy diet would help too, as the ads for Slimfast used to say in tiny writing at the bottom of the TV screen.
How's you today hon? xxx
Yeah it's me that needs the B12 as without a stomach you can't get it from food and you need it for... loads of things.
Despite what the Internet tries to flog you, I never found that it turbo charged me but always felt my 8 weekly cycle grinding to its end, sometimes feeling really rough and desperate for it. So imagine my delight when it was changed to 12 weeks and I was told by text!
Cheers
Do you think your call back appointment will be speedy?
You sound quite stoic but how do you feel? Physically I mean.
Cheers
During today's medical proceedings, the consultant asked me to lie on the treatment bed before having a go at turning me into a glove puppet. He commented that I was very stiff. I quickly checked as that would have been a miracle. Nope. He was apparently referring to my laboured arthritic movements. Let's see if that makes the hamsters panic. I've been asked to prove whether or not I'm a robot at least 5 times today. I'm beginning to walk about saying 'exterminate, exterminate.' Then I realise that the stairs do not yet defeat me, so I'm one up on Daleks at least. xxx
I am shattered. Poxy B12 was postponed for a week and stupidly I keep forgetting to take my iron tablets that I got when protested about B12 cycle. It's because I need to take them at different time to other pills.
My plantar fascitis REALLY painful today but I was in n out of B12 appointment so fast never got to mention it!
Anyway I am liking this house move plan of yours. You got some areas that are an absolute no no?
Cheers
