Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Now I never had rubber buttons ... As far as I know they had a sort of cross over neckline or ribbons.
Wonder if that influenced my latex allergy?.

I'm wondering if my baby doll is wearing one of my big sister's now? It's got a few milk teeth chewed buttons but I know I was responsible for those.
No, I don't still play with dolly but she's in a high cupboard along with the rest of my ancient toys, and the last time I moved house I re-boxed them. That's when I noticed she still wore the oversized LB, a more yellow colour than soft off-white. What am I on about? Oh, you started it.
We've got the box set of Blackstuff, brilliant series and chuffed to find a fellow fan xxx
How is OH now?
Your post explaining MILs calls only appeared today!
How likely is it that she's ill? Also, what does she expect him and therefore you to do about it given she did very little in respect of OH's situation?
Cheers
Awe ... My very first toy is somewhere in a cupboard at my dad's. I never seen another like it.
Dad was in the Merchant Navy so that may explain it. Imagine a lilac plush teddy bear but without ears and with a doll's face ... bit like a doll wearing a hooded fleece onesie.
Cheers
Excuse the long delay but I got hambushed knew it!
First: Awwww, I love him without ever seeing him. The first thing that sprang to mind was a Telly Tubby but something rings an ancient bell and I think I know what you mean. Will try and find it in the wee hours.
Second: the hambush also brought up previously unseen one about mother. I'll post this now and reply on the next one if it'll allow xxx
The chances of her being genuinely ill are slim as she's the boy who cried wolf. Once, ages ago, she rang and got OH in a blind panic after announcing she'd discovered a blood clot on her ankle. ???Of course she then demanded he'd have to whizz her off to hospital immediately. He was WFH at the time so had to clear it with his boss and was told he'd have to make up the time.
Her self diagnosis turned out to be cobblers so panic and extra work hours were an utter waste of time. That wasn't the only time she pulled one of those out of the bag.
As for what she expects us to do won't happen - no transport any more and OH is in a worse state than she is, despite her senior age. If she thinks I've become a nurse as I'm keeping her son alive, she's got another think coming.
I hope OH hasn't inherited her traits as he seems ok now. But I'm in a quandary - A&E to be sure or ignore and hope nothing transpires. It would be so much easier if he could speak as much of the time it's guesswork unless something is outwardly visible.

It really shouldn't be this precarious or difficult to post
Seriously it's one the few places someone seeking support in the dark hours can find live responses!!
Any luck?
.
With regards to MIL,.are there no other relatives in the mix? What was her mother like? Have bullying and manipulation always been part of her life?
Presumably all these calls could be a text message saying what it's about ... a format OH can interact with?
With OH, is he a good judge of whether a situation NEEDS intervention?
Cheers
Hokey cokeyed yet again!
All other close relatives live about 90 miles away (no wonder) and the few extended family a few miles away, that's why she's always jumped on OH, practically on her doorstep. I think she's finding it difficult to accept or acknowledge he's no longer her personal chauffeur.
I never knew her mother as she was long gone, so no-one to guage for narcissistic tendencies.
Re. texting. She can't, or won't, do it properly and they're usually a hash of badly phrased nonsense that means OH has to text back to ask what she's on about. Cue her leaving him a voice message to come round now! His time isn't hers anymore but she won't have it. Manipulation at its finest.
OH is a poor judge of everything and I'm his protector. I've got him out of scrapes both financially and personally. I've got a few years on him but we were brought up at opposite ends of the scale and it's palpable.
Well that took a long time as it took several attempts to reply. Sigh xxx
