Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Sorry I wasn't around earlier.
Not sure about your 111 in Wales but in England it can't get you a dental appointment. You can search on internet for the emergency dental hub in your area. There should be a couple of dentists and how to contact them.
Sadly this is only a request for an appointment. There are very few NHS dentists and very few urgent appointments. You may have to leave a number or call very early every day but an appointment may still be a couple of days away.
111 in England puts you on a call back list to their dental service but this is just advice and a text message with the details of the link to the online dentist hub ... but it doesn't work on android phones... most people's phones!
The person who rings you back is a dentist though so should be able to advise on whether an ordinary dentist can treat you. A dental hospital may also offer a few urgent appointments to the public. Students dentists but they are supervised.
You may be able to get a one off private appointment but after you have paid for that before they see you, there may be extra costs for any treatment.
AnE don't want you as they have no dentists so cant help.
Pain relief... should have started with this!
Paracetamol 2 every 4 hours till you have taken them 4 times in 24 hours.
If you are ok to take Ibuprofen you can take them as well, ditto but please be careful.
Some say no but I say YES to getting hold of Clove oil. Comes in little bottles from chemist and toiletry type places like Superdrug. Couple of drops on a cotton bud or finger dabbed around tooth n gum.
Can sting gums, it's a bit like eating Vicks vapour rub but actually numbs tooth.
Good luck... get making those phone calls and finding clove oil.
Cheers
Evening folks, sorry lots of info for Milkey n hope it's not too much.
Wow, great info in the Three Legs want to check out the Tube now
How are we all? Thought I might have to check lost property for my eyebrows earlier as it was 'blarn a hoolie' at the bus stop waiting to go see pal.
It was blowing the puddle on the shelter roof, from earlier rain, back in and under like sea spray! As a diversion from mutiny in the queue of no bus I said I wish I'd worn my vest ... or Liberty Bodice. Cue queries and reminiscences of rubber buttons etc
Cheers
Evening matey
It's definitely been windy and I love it. My mam always had me wearing liberty bodices as a young nipper and I loved those too - very soft and cosy and the rubber buttons were fab to chew on. I was never keen on the silky ribbons as they always came undone.
It was eldest who told me about the T3Ls shorts on YouTube and I got well into watching them when I got home. They reminded me of the pub scene in Boys from the Blackstuff - 'If I were a blackbiiird I'd whistle and siiing...'
Did you watch it? xxx
Another possible way of relieving dental pain if it's from inflammation/abscess is to make a mouthwash from one dispersible aspirin tablet in about 1/3 of a small tumbler of water. Rinse mouth once the tablet has dissolved in the water BUT DON'T SWALLOW. Just spit out in the sink with each rinse. Final rinse with water. It has worked twice for me with one mouthwash a day for 1 or 2 days. Obviously, do not do this if you are allergic to aspirin.
Bonjela from your local chemists (or pharmacy as they are now called) can also help but read the instructions to ensure it's ok for you to use.
Good luck with finding a dentist Milkey. They are mostly expensive these days even if you can find one who will treat you.
