Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Sorry for the late reply hon, but I wanted to get everything done and I'm now flopped on the bed.

The chances of moving anytime soon are slim, but it's a project I'll get stuck into sometime next year. Yes, we'd have to sell but I might have a word with next door's landlord first to see if he'd be interested as he's clearly not concerned with the behaviour of his tenants or upsetting existing neighbours. If that's a no go I'll put it up for auction to get it off our hands and cancel out the garden problem.

The neighbours are fully aware of my feelings as I've told them straight, several times. They've attempted a few perfunctory tidy ups after I've bawled them out but the rubbish soon mounts up again. Now we just laugh, as it is quite amusing, and when we go it'll no longer be our problem. Anyway, I'm having fun looking at places with no stairs, low ceilings and planning ahead.

Will you be joining the curry club for eats? Laters hon xxx

  • That is shocking Gill. It is a wonder they haven't been reported to the local council. My sister has the same trouble with her neighbours. Asians have moved in around her flat and they just don't care. I am lucky I have got good neighbours. Salford used to have a bad name but they have cleaned up their act. I live at irlams o the height and is a good area.

  • 23 days ago one of my posts mentioned this: ....I've mentioned gravy boats before (washing up play time). I don't think I've mentioned the electric boat I made from the upper body of an old Morphy Richards iron which looked boat shaped. It needed a bit of extra displacement to float with the battery and motor weight as well as the steel hull but was more entertaining than a rubber duck in the bath .  I'll post a photo of it if I can find batteries for my camera.

With my characteristic lightning speed I have bought and fitted new batteries in my camera. Iron boat photos attached. I made it in the late 1980s from a 1950s iron. I made the cargo plane in 1982 for my son as I could not afford a Fisher Price one. xxx

  • They are lovely Ray loving the bay window. Very stylish. Well done.xxx

I'm glad you live in a good area with nice neighbours, and I hope it stays like that sweetie.

It used to be like that here several years ago, very quiet and peaceful, no roads nearby and our garden is private - walled on 3 sides and access only for us.

The issues started with the arrival of those next door, but they don't worry me as they get nervous when I ramp up my anger. What's really tipped me is since OH got unwell and became a semi invalid, as living in a backwater doesn't work now. There's a bit of a walk from the main road and the old couple on the end have made it awkward with 2 sets of flipping gates. Heavy shopping bags and negotiating those, along with accumulated rubbish on next door's path have fired me up to move.

Once I get something in my head it stays ThumbsupJoy Well your sister has my sympathy as I know how she feels, poor lass.

How are you doing today my lovely? xxx

  • Fabulous models Ray! I agree with Sonia as well xxx

  • Bay windows: larger window sill to collect dust, and more expensive size for curtains. I've yet to buy new ones since the new carpet and redecorating activities. Putting the old ones back up was an option until I discovered how much it would cost to have them dry cleaned. New, shorter ones from Dunelm are on the cards...eventually. xxx

  • I am okay thanks Gill. It only takes one bad neighbour to bring the street down. My niece is coming tonight and she is bringing me some macdonalds she has been good to me. She lives in rossendale so is about 40 minutes from me.
