Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Joy Now I didn't go that far and had definitely washed up before they came to view.  Ah, so you could be a candidate for subterfuge.  I never tried putting a loaf in the oven though - apparently the aroma of freshly baked bread is supposed to rope in the punters.  Dunno about that but we once went to look round a house for sale.  The owner showed us round whilst telling us his wife had done a bunk.  It showed - his gaff was filthy and reeked of wet dogs, old socks and grotty undercrackers.  We didn't buy the house.

    Hugs xxx

  • I’ve seen some horror houses online, huge piles of washing up etc.I might not be able to get repairs done but I do clean and wash up before viewings.I find it all tiring as the house is on 4 floors but I’ve just bought a new vacuum cleaner which will help.X

  • Gill, we're in Niederau in the Tirol.  It's been hot and sunny for the past 2 weeks.  Lots of walking, not that far as I'm not that quick on my feet.  But... the mountain air!!!

Came here 32 years ago, returned last year.  Literally it's like a breath of fresh air.

Not really into Wiener Schnitzel, love a parmo though.

Up in the mountains today, drinking proper fresh alpine milk, got some amazing Cheese.

I've tried downloading more photos but they wouldn't work.

    Bloody internet connection!

This is Rattenberg, you could make a jigsaw from the pictures.

  • Sounds wonderful, enjoy.

  • Hi Steve.

Amazing photo.  You know, even though it's well over fifty years, I can recall that air so well. Breathe it in my friend, it will do you a power of good.

Hey, I make mean schnitzels (not veal but pork) and think I'll whizz up some breadcrumbs and make a big batch tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday, you lucky guy xxx

  • Hi Geoff,

Welcome to this wonderful group of people.

They really help with the loneliness

I hope you are having a good day xx

  • Hi Jane.

Yes, I've seen some houses from hell too.  In fact, they're more interesting than pristine ones - unmade beds, rooms crammed with junk and sticky surfaces everywhere.  I don't know how sellers dare, knowing photos will be taken.

Four floors?!!  Crikey, that must be tiring and well done for getting a new vac. I need to get another, not that the one I've got isn't good, it's great and almost sucks the rug up but it weighs a ton.  My aching old bones are struggling, lugging it around, so I'm gonna have one upstairs and another for down.  Aw, I wish I could help you, as I know full well how hard it is to clear a house.  Luckily, my fella was still well when we did it.

I'm hoping that in the not too distant future, you'll be here and posting that you've got a buyer and busy looking for a house for you and hubby.  Now that would be grand. Fingers crossed Fingers crossed xxx

  • Hi Dub! Thank you so much, it's great to meet you.

My day has been surprisingly good actually thank you. Same to you.  Slight smile

I know it's early but I'm off to bed. It's much later than normal for me but I won't sleep enough if I don't get going, and I'll only suffer tomorrow.
