Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Hi Gilly, is it warm enough for you , I got a surprise last minute invitation from the hospice, to help finish a little exhibition they've been working onGrinning, which was lovely to do, even though the reason was sad. I'm off to a village near Otley called Hawksworth to look at some arts and crafts materials somebody's selling

How are you and your LOH doing my friend, maybe a restful day due to the heat, or keeping up with the exercisesWeary, take care, both of you

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Hi Gilly, I posted to myself when it was meant for you my friend, posted to you, when it was meant for the new gentleman, and his post has now disappearedFearful, I'm more confused than everConfused, xx

  • Hi Eddie.  Confusion reigns supreme and I blame the weather.  Neither of us likes this heat my friend - OH's face is puffed up like a balloon, despite my soothing massages, and I'm up to my neck with cleaning.  Bonkers when it's 30° and then some, but it's got to be done.  An exercise workout in itself.

Enough of my whining!  Sounds like you've had a good day so far and let's hope the materials are what you're looking for.  If you create another masterpiece, please share on here as it's smashing to see others' talents on view.  The cross stitch photos from Annette and Helen were superb.

I wonder why that post disappeared - did we say something wrong?  Who knows but I'm blaming the weather!

Love to you and Sheila, and little Poppy xxx

  • Oh dear Gilly, is LOH face swelling up something that's happened before?, I hope it's not as bad as it sounds my friend, and he's through it soon, I'm not one for name calling but picking today to do the cleaning, I'm not saying anything, lol.

The hospice was lovely, and the trip to West Yorkshire fruitful, 4 large boxes full of art and  craft material, at a bargain, I never even haggled, and weren't Helen's and Annette's works amazing and isn't it good we share such things.

I don't know why the new guys post disappeared, only that you can't remove one of your own posts if someone has replied to it, another mystery.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • No , don't worry about his face; it happened the last time the weather got hot, and his nurse said it sometimes happens with lymphoedema - it's already gone down somewhat since this aft. I'm always on alert, and never panic, but know when to get extra help. Thanks for asking Eddie x

Now that's great, getting a bargain, and the lovely hospice visit too.  A productive afternoon.  Yes, I know I'm crackers, cleaning in this heat, but I'd put it off for days and there were no excuses today.  Done now.

I didn't know that about posts, so it is a mystery.  Toyah wails in the background...

    Love to you both xxx

  • Awww wasn't Toyah fab, so underrated as a singer and actress, and LOH  is  improving, damn lyphnodes, if they did their job in the 1st place, there would be fewer cancer cases and less complications afterwards, I had 8 zapped and the buggers have it in for me, lol, good news you don't have the cleaning hanging over your head, and I love a bargain even if most of it will go to the day hospice.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Aye those flipping nodes have a lot to answer for.  I'm unsure how many my H had taken out but some were cancerous. Lawks

I liked Toyah in a Tales of the Unexpected; it was called Blue Marigold and she played a fading model/actress.  Probably not widely seen, but of course, she had a role in Quadrophenia too.  My ex hubby knew some of the scooter boys they'd roped in as extras for the film - he used to have fights with them in his misspent youth. Lol!

I'll quit waffling now Eddie - the heat must be making me delirious or something. Well that's my excuse but I'm going to have some shuteye as my eyes are like slits.

Have a good evening and might see you later.  Hugs xxx

  • Waffle all you like my friend,  it's liberating, and get yourself some well deserved kip, till later.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Thanks Eddie.

We're away in our motorhome for a few days, in Henley-on-Thames. I sat and did some cross stitch this afternoon.

I'm hoping to sleep well tonight as I normally do in the motorhome although it's very sticky here.

Sounds like you are pleased with your boxes of crafty stuff.

  • Hi Helen,  your welcome my friend, and your cross stitch is amazing, maybe one day I'll be half as good as you, and having tried my hand at barello on Monday and thoroughly enjoyed it, I can see why you find It so relaxing,  back to the class next Monday.

That's strange how you find it easier to sleep in the camper, has that always been the case, and your right about the sultry weather,  Yorkshire's been the hot spot today,"as usual ", and not too far from Gilly's, poor LOH has had it hard today as has  nurse Gilly, hopefully it's cooling down nicely for them.

You do get around my friend which is wonderful, I've never been to Henley on Thames but my girls went once, and really enjoyed it, especially the rowing, more likely the strapping young guys taking part, lol.

Oooh I love a bargain and bought over 100 canvas panels along with umpteen paints, "oils and water colours," brushes and a couple of easels, I'm not sure what arty things I've, or with friends, posted, but I will post some bits.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx
