Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Same for us Gill-see the kids right, then help our friends. No desire for fancy cars or extravagant things, just getting another house with a bit more space and then sharing the joy around to make other folks’ lives a little easier. Just need to keep hoping!

  • Aw Jane, you've had a lot on your plate my lovely.  But draw on your inner strength and don't give up - it's daunting but you sound incredibly strong and I'm wishing you all the luck in the world.

    Sending you both hugs xxx

  • I’m not surprised your mental health has taken a hit Jane. It’s a lot to cope with, but I really hope you’ll get a sale soon and be able to find somewhere else. You’ve had an exhausting few years nursing your mum and being ill yourself-you deserve to have good things happen for you now so that you can be settled in a new place that will suit you better.

  • Hi Sian.  Hope you get this, what with no PMs, but Debs and me are pretty desperate to know how you are hon.  Been wracking my brains how to get in touch and then remembered you once posted here.

If you look in, sending you all my best wishes for tomorrow.  Not sure you'd consider an op an ideal birthday present, but many happy returns for this Saturday xx

  • Hi there and a warm welcome to our group.

You sound really switched on - don't think I've got that much self discipline, but your tips will likely be a great help for others undergoing treatment.  Thanks so much for the heads up.

    Hugs xxx

  • Hiya, and a warm welcome from me, and your so right that there's a way that helps most of us find a way to some much needed sleep, but finding what works for each of us can be a minefield, that's so nice if you to share your experiences, and hopefully some of the guys can return the favour with a couple of snippets of advice to help you.
