Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Thanks Gilly, but I have been on the community nearly 3 years, and I'm familiar with PMs, having 22 friends, about the same number on WhatsApp, and those I email, phone, and meet-up/visit, and a friend of mine has a pure white Maine Coon Tom who weighs 12kg, and eats a horse for breakfast lol, my little Poppy looks like a mouse next to him. Sleepy time my friend XX
Hi Gill Poor you with flea bites,, there isn’t much you can do except Calamine Lotion. I would imagine they are very difficult to get rid of too when they are so small. I hope you told your neighbour to get the flea powder out! I’d imagine it is difficult to keep them out especially with doors and windows open if it is hot where you are!
Well done putting the chair up. It sounds to me as if your OH is very lucky to have you!
Hi Eddie I hope you enjoyed the seaside! I just love it no matter the season!
Love Annette x
Hi Eddie, Yes Private Messaging, that’s what I was telling you that even after I managed to Log In for the first time in ages, I could not access the PM page.
I got a message over a week ago to say Sarah has sent me a PM. At that time I couldn’t get logged in but they still sent me notifications!! Now still I can’t get into PMs. I have even looked at the activity online for the past week or so but can’t see Sarah’s name anywhere. Does anyone know if she is alright please let me know!
Love Annette x
Morning Annette.
No need to reply, but I nodded off for a bit but awake again. Yep, flea bites are a flipping nuisance so I bought powder and went crazy with the vacuum, hoping to clean the little blighters out! They'd better not have taken up residence in the new chair grrrr.
Aw Annette, I'm lucky to have my OH; he tries his best to help but I won't allow him to do things I can do by myself - it all comes with the care package as I'm his dedicated nurse now. We've both tried the chair out and it's super comfy; winter will be that bit cosier this time round.
Regarding the gremlins, it's annoying for a few of us too, as we're desperate to know how our friend fared at a recent appointment and won't know till PMs are up again. I too hope Sarah's ok.
Righto my lovely, going to try for getting back off so night night and take good care xxx
Morning Helen.
Second cuppa for me as I've been up for over an hour. My plans for today are more cleaning, in my quest to eradicate those ruddy fleas! No new bites yet but just extra insurance. When the chores are done, I'll finish reading my book.
So, any plans on your agenda today Helen? A nice day for watching ferries maybe, or a spot of eating out? Whatever your plans, enjoy. Hugs xxx
Morning Helen, I'm so sorry I missed your post but I've slept almost 7 hours straight through, which is unheard of, I usually wake up at least 2 times which is "ideal", as I have meds to take at least an hour before or after food, and can then sleep through the side effectsAwww that's lovely your feline friends next door pop in, do they stay long or maybe get a treat now and then
, my little Jack Russell Poppy, is happy to play, or say hello to the local cats, but woe betide them should they fancy popping in.
The little ginger has a brother and sister and have already found a home, maybe she'll visit again.
love Eddie and Sheila xx
Morning all. The magnesium did its job and I slept well. I don't feel too bad this morning, so perhaps I'm getting used to it.
Ah Eddie, thanks for the kind words. It's hard when you lose something you love ️ but it will ease. I'll post a picture which should put a smile on your faces. Sorry Gill you've seen it before but I'm sure you won't mind seeing it again.
Love to you all from sunny West Wales. Xxx
Morning Eddie, for when you're up and about.
I always knew you'd have a huge gang of friends - your demeanour is irresistible and I'm glad to be amongst them xx
Well Tom sounds magnificent, in his pure white coat; I bet he rules the roost and is treat like a king, but little Poppy has the Jack Russell inner fire so he'd better not mess with her!
Before I crack on, I read up about the pudential nerve and all I'll say is...oooh, matron!
Have a super dooper day xxx
