Are you having trouble sleeping?

Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.

“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

  • Oh Eddie, is that a Maine Coon ? Xxx

  • Hi Gilly, the party was wonderful, as was seeing  our son & family. Awww my friend, I'm in no position to take on any furry friends, but the half tiger fella is a therapy cat, with a loving home already, and ginger will find a home soon.

I know the therapies are applicable to the accessory nerve, but not to your LOH specific circumstances,  but if you don't ask, you'll never know, the pudendal nerve which relates to my cancer, can be repaired even after being severed, sadly this is not well known, and it can't be the only nerve that can be, can it?, PS as you've called me a bad influence before lol, I'm not telling you the other name for this nerveJoy

Well Gilly, all I can say is once you start making your own ice cream, you'll never buy shop bought again, I use an Icemalux, not easy to find and  a slightly unconventional ice cream, but  having amazing cream to eat in 4 minutes is fab, as for duck eggs, I'm not sure they taste better than a hens, freshness is what matters, but those big golden yolks certainly look yummy.

not sure what kind of weekend Sheila is having, as she's not with us, as she's away in Cambridge with her son and DIL, I'm with my eldest daughter,  her mum,  our eldest granddaughter and of course Poppy.

    Sleep well my friend xx

  • Hi Eddie and you've put me right on a couple of things there.  I'll certainly ask about the nerve thingy and I'm curious to know about the 'other' name for the Prudential nerve - I'm going to look it up.

Again with the food. Lol!  You've got me craving ice cream now, with loads of strawberries of course.  And other fruits...

Brilliant that you and Poppy are enjoying yourselves with family, and I hope the weather stays warm and dry.  It's meant to start boiling up again next week but it's not my cup of tea - us creatures of the night prefer the colder stuff!

Night God bless my friend xxx

  • Hi Debs, your spot on my friend, the handsome fella is indeed a Maine Coon, and only 7 months old, an amazing looking therapy cat. How are you doing sweetheart, I'm sorry but I'm not sure what PM refers to, other than polymyalgia, please listen to your body and take care

    Eddie xx

  • Hi Helen.  Those kitties are indeed gorgeous and our next door neighbours have two cats also.  Unfortunately, their cats are bouncing with fleas and every time they sneak in ours, several of their 'lodgers' pop in too.  My legs are covered in flea bites and I've been itching like mad!  Not happy...

  • Hiya Eddie, I had 3 Maine coons, all sisters. Beautiful cats. Lost the last 1 in 2023 aged 16 … so a good age. Truly wonderful cats

PM … Personal message … Which is down at the moment Pensive

I’m fine, nursing a bruised heart, but it’s all good hon. I’m made of strong stuff, like my good friend Gill.

Talking of which … Gill … are you still wrestling with your recliner ???

    xxx

  • Hi again Eddie.  I'm guessing Debs could be asleep, so I'll answer your question.  It means private message, handy if you don't want to air things on the open forum and give others some extra support.

Maine Coons are beautiful and grow larger than standard cats.  Deb used to have two I think.  He's a very handsome fella on the photo by the way.

    Night again xxx

  • Ah spot on Gill, heading to the land of nod now. Magnesium again ,,, need some sleep and not planning on driving tomorrow. Rest well my friend xxx

  • Hi Debs.  Crossed posts and I thought you might be asleep.

No, it didn't take long setting the chair up but sawing up masses of cardboard took yonks!  It's all done now thank goodness.

    Hugs hon xxx

  • Hiya Debs, my 1 brain cells activated after sending my last post, of course PM means private messaging, having 22 friends on PMs, I  should have known, but I'm sorry your having issues with it, if it persists call Macmillan. It usually resolves itself.

Gilly told me about your recent loss, for which I'm truly sorry,  and all to familiar with, but just seeing one Maine Coon was impressive, living with three sounds amazing. I've had six cats over the years from the cutest little 2 1/2 lb girl to a lovably dopey 9lb boy, but nothing like having three mini tigers in the house.

Good to hear that your doing okThinking my friend, and I'm sure Gilly's about, toolbox away and recliner well tested.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx
