Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

Hiya Eddie, yes computers, who'd have them .. lol.
I spent most of my working life in IT and since retiring, refuse to use a laptop ... just my ipad and phone for me.
West Wales is lovely, as usual. It's a bit grey here today but dry and not windy.
I'm sitting outside typing this, just paused from watering my veggies and spending my time with my poor old dog, who damaged his back leg (again) a few days ago.
He's already had a cruciate knee op on this leg ... can't put him though it again, so I'm keeping him medicated to the hilt and praying he heals well enough over the next week or so to give him back some quality of life. Everythings crossed.
Where are you from Eddie ... is it you that's 30 miles away from Gill ? Xx
The quilt is fabulous and looks so cosy, you talented man, you!
Yes, I've taken all the tips onboard and the girl I spoke to yesterday at the DWP was surprisingly informative. Good on her but she could be a one-off. I've already thought about getting the chair past the door if it's too big - I'll unpack it outside and fetch in the parts as it's self assembly. I've used this cunning method before with big items. Lol!
Good luck today with your endeavours and stay sane.
Love from me xxx
Morning everyone and happy hump day-winding down to the weekend is how I see it!
I’ve seen you mention a recliner Gill-one of the best inventions ever in my opinion. We bought a second hand sofa from a friend last year as a stopgap till getting a new one and it had 2 recliners. We discovered we loved them! It was one of those big corner sofas which did come apart with a recliner at each end. Only issue was it was too big for the living room and was leather so it was hopeless trying to keep throws on it for them always sliding off!
Anyway, in March we went and bought something smaller-we got 2 sofas, both 2 seaters, and every seat is a recliner! Wish we’d done it sooner-it’s fabulous being able to recline in any of the seats. Both sofas came in parts and the delivery guys assembled everything-all got through the front door fine.
A bonus is having built in ports for phone charging at the side of every seat. I can have my legs up every time I’m seated and this makes such a difference to my life.
That’s a lovely quilt you’ve made Eddie-nice and colourful-well done.
I hope your doggy will get over his injury, Deb. None of us like to see our furry friends suffering at all. We lost our old puss last month-couldn’t put her through any more and the vet said it would be kinder to let her go but we were both in a state at the vets seeing her go, and both of us felt so guilty, but more treatment just wouldn’t have been possible and we didn’t want to lose her in surgery. We have our little rescue, but she doesn’t replace Lily, though we love her dearly.
Nice enough day here, and dry-there’s lots of work being done to a house at the back so I’m expecting another day of banging and clattering!
Hop you get on ok today Eddie-I saw your post and that wait time is just unbelievable.

Hi Debbie, I'm sorry to hear about your furry friend, and I will be rooting for the old trooper too.
I haven't been into tech long I got my 1st laptop 15 years ago, and smartphone 18 months ago, and still use them both, but the phone is 1st choice now.
We, the family, love Wales we've been many times, we were at Prestatyn a couple of weeks ago, love Aberystwyth and Llantwit Major,"we had family there," and was at Criccieth a few months ago and will be going back soon with my sons family, he lives in Shropshire near the Welsh borders.
I'm originally from Taynuilt, just outside of Oban, but moved to Yorkshire aged Bentley originally now in Bessaccar, just south of Doncaster. I'm not exactly sure where Gilly lives, I know she's a Yorkshire lass, from near Leeds, I'm guessing there. But yes Gilly and I are maybe 30 miles apart, but we both go to Jimmy's, a hospital in Leeds.
Eddie xx
Awww thanks Gilly, flattery will get you everywhere, and lucky you finding the Rose amongst the thorns, onwards and Upwards hopefully, I knew you'd plan for everything my friend, I used to take out one of the bay windows to get larger items into the house, I'm sure you a whizz at DIY as well.
Eddie xx
I could almost wave to you Eddie-I’m about 15 miles away from you. I’m guessing we probably live the closest?
I’ve mainly been treated in Yorkshire, in Sheffield, but I’m been to hospitals in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire too depending on the issue I had at the time.
I love this part of the world, and I wouldn’t want to live back up in Scotland now.

Morning Sarah, and I hope you're as well as you can be on this windy day x
I've looked at loads of recliners and decided a fabric number would be best, as I've taken your tip about throws sliding off the leather look ones. I was also debating about one with a built-in USB port but since you've endorsed them, I'll plump for that too. Many thanks for your wise recommendations.
Tell me about building work going on nearby...a few years ago, next door had a large studio built in their garden. The racket it created was horrendous and drove us both insane! I had many ding dongs with the owners and the builders, especially about the clouds of concrete dust that descended over our little rabbit's hutch, so I constructed a canopy for his protection. I fumed throughout the whole eight months it took and have narked myself again, just thinking about it.
Well that's my complaints on a plate for now, so I'll pipe down and leave you to enjoy your day. Much love heading your way xxx
"three of my cancer friend's and I are off to Ayr and Belfast for a few days soon fab."
Hi Eddie... if I can give you a lift anywhere around Belfast just let me know
Steve
I’m feeling good today thanks Gill!
I much prefer the fabric covered recliners and they are warmer than leather to me. iPad leads are so short that the inbuilt charging port on ours at the side beside the recline button is just perfect. Hope you’ll find the same.
My neighbour at the back passed away, so his house was up for auction. I looked at the pictures inside online and it was like something out of the 70s! Didn’t even have central heating so there’s a huge amount to be done. Noise isn’t too bad today but I’m a bit nosy and can’t see what they’re doing as I can’t get out!
We didn’t get on with him or his wife-he used to spy from an upstairs bedroom at my neighbours here, and me in the days when I could do things in the garden. Always listening to the police radio-I could hear it from mine. One of my neighbours reported him to the police for spying at her daughter’s bedroom windows with binoculars and my neighbours warned us about him when we moved here. We’ve all had a few ding dongs with him over the years! Luckily all our other neighbours are lovely.
Have a good day-I’ve got a few jobs to do -trying to plan menus and shopping for our new eating plan to take account of my diabetes and digestive issues. Everything seems to say this and that are not good so I’ll be eating dust at this rate!
