Hi, I'm new here, diagnosed this week with grade 2 invasive lobular breast cancer on the left side and a DCIS also in that breast, had biopsies at the diagnosis appointment of something they've now found on the right too so awaiting those results. Need a mastectomy within the next 8 weeks. Im in my thirties, feeling a bit lost so thought I would have a look at this forum xxx

  • Hi hun, pls don’t worry hopefully it all goes well. Have you had surgery yet? Hopefully results come in quickly so it doesn’t delay surgery. My advice would be to msg your breast care nurse the next day, once u know what’s going on etc it will be much easier.

  • Only a day to go, have you tried catching on soaps? Or anything you enjoy watching? Try not to over think things, Thursday is around the corner once you know more, it will be much easier trust me.

  • The original plan was to start chemo and then do surgery because I’ve got to have this pet scan on Thursday who knows what my treatment plan is going to look like? The Warren is mentally and physically draining me. I can’t believe how much I slept over the weekend, I’m still going to work- I work in a crematorium of all places and I see death every day :(

  •  good news is Thursday is literally around the corner, they can get the scan results really quick and reports can be sent over, Iv also been told most of the times scans etc tend to pick up every little thing so it might not even be cancer, even if it is they will have a treatment plan/ surgery etc so trust me it will be ok. One more day to go, things will get moving.

  • Going to sound crazy but do you like hotchocolate? I suggest tomorrow after work pop in to Costa get a nice terrys hotchocolate, watch friends it will make you laugh, stay positive. Xx

  • Hi Anon, sorry to hear you’ve got cancer so young - my sister had breast cancer at 33, and I have breast cancer at 40 - before us there has been no family history. As a positive story - my sister is 9 years from her diagnosis. Let me know if you have any questions xxxx
