Hi all… I have just found out I need Kadcyla chemo for 9-10 months …which I am dreading to be honest.

I just wondered if anyone is also receiving the treatment or has previously?

I am told the side effects are tolerable compared to the other types I chemo I have had but I am anxious as I just want to get my life back again.

Any comments would really be appreciated

thanks Charlie

  • Hi

I am one of the Community Champions across the breast cancer pages and I noticed you hadn’t had a response to your post. I don’t have the experience you are looking for - my cancer is TNBC - but suggest you post your query on our busier Breast cancer forum where more people with the same type of cancer as you may see it.

  • Hey lovely I am currently having kadcyla 10 to go but whos counting lol. The side effects are less harsh tired bit achey but after the first chemo a walk in the park honestly ,I was also taken by surprise to be having more treatment after chemo radiotherapy and surgery but honestly you've come so far the end is in sight for us both all the best with treatment big hugs   Bev x

  • Hi Bev,

thanks so much for your reply … it really helps to hear you are managing the Kadcyla ok and it’s not as horrid as the first cycles of chemo.
well done you 10 more to go you will smash it!!
I too like you thought it was chemo, surgery, radiation therapy and then corrective surgery on the other breast, so hoping to have it all done and dusted this year. But that wasn’t to be .. wanted it all done this year as we should have been getting married this year but had to move to next year. Now I won’t have completed this treatment until June/july, getting too close to my hen do in July lol Stuck out tongue winking eye

Has your hair continued to grow with the treatment? I am 13 weeks past last chemo cycle and only have fluff really Unamused worried how slow it’s growing back.

Wishing you all the best my lovely for the rest of your treatment.
