Anyone diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer? I had 2 grade 3 lumps before mastectomy. Just looking for others with similar experience. Awaiting lymph node removal (wasnt on scan but was in 2 nodes tested from surgery) and also awaiting chemo in February most probably post op recovery

  • Thanks so much for the reassurance going to be having double Masectomy after chemo ends. Yes I am able to wash armpits in the shower. That’s great news to hear recovery is going well. Xx

  • Did you have reconstruction done at the same time?

  • No, I was offered lumpectomy but asked for mastectomy and they agreed (left breast). Surgeon said he'd prefer to stick with lumpectomy if i wanted reconstruction. Ive decided I dont want it anyway. The first softie breast they gave me has been fine, but i dont wear it every day, jumpers are forgiving as its winter. Summer will be more of a learning curve. My husband has been fine with my body change, hasnt affected his affection at all. But Im 46 and not everyone feels at ease like I do with this decision, bc nurse said everyone is different. She asked me yesterday on phone how i feel about the scar. I said Id prefer if both breasts were off but its not upsetting me at the moment. I've looked at flat friends website and feel ok about it.

I was out at a friends having a cup of tea 2 days post op and out for a walk each day. I didnt have a drain, some fluid was there post op but it seems to be lessening daily. Scar is tingly/bit of a tight feel at times, nerve ending type pain but its like a paper cut pain just over a bigger area.

  • From reading your other comments in this thread it sounds like you've already come a long way having had a mastectomy.

    Sending (((hugs)))
