Hi all

I'm 10 days into tamoxifen.

Has it made anyone else very emotional?

My days seem to have a pattern.

Wake 6am with nausea and anxiety, v upset. Like this till 2ish. Odd jaw pain and tired. I get bit dizzy and headache from 2 til 5 then can't get warm, or go too hot.

Take tamoxifen 7pm asleep by 9pm and starts again next day.

Can someone please tell me this passes.

I'm still grieving the loss of my mum in June, also had my coil out due to hormonal cancer.

Need something positive to cling on to or advise to help xx

  • Hi,

I’ve  just read you post and seen your experience is similar to mine. My radiotherapy is planned for mid November if chemotherapy is not required. I’m waiting on the Oncotype results and further discussion with the oncologist. I’ve also been prescribed Tamoxifen but would start this once the radiotherapy is completed. Perhaps we could keep in touch for moral support? I’m still recovering from surgery and DIEP flap. How are you feeling now?

    Hi

I started tamoxifen and have had no side effects at all. Had first fraction of RT today feels a little tender but early days. All through this process I have felt well and still feel the same have not had any changes except for the change to how you body looks. I hope you are doing ok and getting support? Happy to keep in touch x

  • Hi,

I’m doing ok thanks. It’s still early days. Almost five weeks since the surgery. I’ve found the DIEP flap the most difficult part. Everything is healing really well thankfully but it’s been extremely painful in that area. I’ll feel much more settled once I have my treatment plan confirmed. I’m being well supported by my partner and family. Yes, my body looks quite different too, there’s been lots of explaining to my daughter who is extremely interested! I hope you feel ok after the radiotherapy and your recovery is going well. May I ask if you’re working throughout radiotherapy? X

  • Hiya,

I just wanted to mention that my mum was put on Tamoxifen in the eighties when they were just trying it. She had breast cancer in her thirties. She had a mastectomy. She is now 75 and well... Grin...

. I had my diagnosis in Feb at 48.... I've finished my chemo and radiotherapy.... I'm on Letrozole.

    Our cancers aren't linked BTW.

    Good luck.... Xx

  • Hi,

Thats wonderful to hear you your mum is well.
I hope you’re recovery is going well too. I’m due to start Tamoxifen after radiotherapy. Hoping this lock down won’t get in the way of appointments etc.
