My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

yes, that's the original packet Quay where the packet ship used to dock. Alan would spend hours there and on the other quays, especially custom house quay.

    Hi Claire,

I am sorry to read your very sad story. I think the others have gave you lots of advise and take lots of comfort in the love you and Alex had for each other and the support you are getting from friends and family. My husbands family were a pain too but not in a nasty way. His mum and dad were both dead so it was just sister and her children but they never visited him even though they knew he didn't have long. They always had some excuse or just didn't bother turning up when they were supposed to. He was really hurt by it but luckily he was very close to my family and they were around him all the time. His family were okay at the funeral because they just kept their distance but as I have two kids I know I will need to keep in touch with them for birthdays, christmas etc as my husband would have wanted them to stay in touch. The saying about not being able to pick your family is so true! I am lucky though that my family are a huge support and I don't know what I would have done without them especially my sister who has been brilliant. Take care and you know we are here if you ever need us.

Hello everyone else, well done Kev on the tattoo. I have two that I got done years ago and would like another but I am too much of a coward at the moment. Will need to build up to it! The first one I got I walked out halfway as it was too sore (it wasn't really but I had worked myself up too much) and then my friend dragged me back 2 weeks later to get it finished lol!!! Have a nice time in Cornwall.

I have been busy packing tonight so just about ready for Mickey Mouse. On another note I bought a copy of Grazia today and my letter I wrote about the article about grief was printed!! How excited was I! Will be showing it off to everyone.

    Goodnight everyone.

    Morning all
Claire i'm glad you find some comfort from the ladies (and gent sorry Kev) This site certainly has kept me going . Gayle where are you going , Mickey is a bit of a clue but which one ?
Well i'm off work today , i'm having mt BT line put back in this afternoon , we had it out a couple of years ago as we both had mobiles , mobile internet etc , and we never used it but since i dont have my husbands mobile i haven't got enough miniuts on my own , my last bill was 130 pound (who says i can talk ) but to be fair it was whilst he was in hospital so i was texting and calling people a million times a day , but it will be cheaper to have the line back in . They wanted to charge me 122 poun d for a engineer , so i said i wouldn't bother , they soon changed there mind and there doing it for nothing now , so for 11 pound a month i'll get free evenings and weekend calls , that will suit me , so anyone on land lines fancy a chat i can do that now yippee . I'm off to meadowhell this morning (thats not a typo Ailsa i'ts hell to me ) but my sister wanted to go and she hates driving so i'm taking and maybe we might look at a few holliday clothes . Tonight there coming to talk about it and see if we can get anything , i'll probably have packed by then , even tho it will be at least 8 weeks away
Hope you all have a good day . speak later ......

Hello everyone. It has been a nice day all day today while I was at work and then got wet and windy when I came home!!
How is everyone doing? I'm sure the pram will be well worth the money when the baby arrives Fiona.
I am going to speak with Stu about the best place to have the tattoo Kev - he is a bit of an expert so I am sure he can make sure I get a good tattooist as well. Wish me luck!
Glad to hear your back in the swing of home with the housework Helen. Hope you are doing okay today Claire.
How was Meadowhell Lynne? Stu's girldfriend always calls it Meadowhell as well but Chris loved to shop so I wasn't allowed to - he thought it was a great place.
Well done on getting your letter in Grazia Gayle - I will watch out for it.
Right - I'm off to the cinema tonight so must go. Take care everyone. Ailsa xx

    Hello everyone

Gayle, thanks I will have a nice time in Cornwall, and I did laugh at the tattoo. I need one done on the right shoulder now!! Well done with Grazia and enjoy Mickey.

Lynne, hope you're doing ok, new phone line eh chat chat chat, don't forget to have a tray full of drinks and nik naks, saves getting up!!

Ailsa, hope the film was good, what did you see? I quite like the sound of the new film about the time traveller. Good luck with the tattoo. Whether this helps or not, but when she done my tattoo I thought this pain is nothing compared to what Di went through and it wasn't too bad after that!!

Helen, did you get a tan in Spain?

Fiona, Sue, Claire and all the people I have forgot to mention a big hello to you all.
