My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

Thank you Sue - you always find a way to make me feel teary..........but this time they are 'good' tears - not of sadness but with the pleasure of knowing that I can get things right sometimes!!!!  I do tend to suffer from 'foot in mouth' syndrome..... and unintentionally hurt people................Love and a special ((((hug)))) for you my friend.....Dot xxxxxxxx

    Dear Dot,

You were one of the first people to offer me support when i joined this site almost a year ago, and i shall never forget what you did for me.

    Our Dottee? never!!!

Sue I agree with you totally about Dottee, always a warm hug, always a lovely greeting - what more could we ask for.

Gayle hun, just you hang on in there.  You have just got the boys through Christmas and the energy reserves that must have been used up doing that just need to be slowly rebuilt.  Hang on to Dottee and me and anyone else that is having a 'good spell' and we will flap and waddle and slide our way to that friendly light.

Lynne, I hope your dad is doing ok - if he has you around he will certainly know that he is loved and cared for.  Lesley, I am not at all surprised that you feel like you have jetlag, you must be SHATTERED.  And as you say, now is the time for this snow and ice to go, you need to be able to go and be 'glamorous granny' whenever you want and steal baby cuddles!

Ailsa, I have only just been able to have a good look at Chris's snowman pictures, they are lovely.  Four hours walking in the snow - you have just earnt yourself whipped cream and marshmallows on your hot chocolate!  My Facebook is playing up, everytime I log on I get to see my page for about two seconds then I get a big grey box telling me I have performed and illegal operation and it shuts down!!  All I did was discover I was a Dragon!!

To everyone massive warm hugs - it is SO cold here - and love to all.

PS - very few flights out of Aberdeen today, so I think SD will be here at least another night.  No sign of her or the boyfriend when I came home from work - but suitcases still here!

Oh and Lesley did I say congratulations on the new arrival - a good name Daniel, if he's half as good as my Daniel he will be a little star (and hard work too bless him).  And Lynne hope your dad is ok, special hug for you too. xxxxx

Hello everyone.  I have managed to rescue my van today so looks like I will have to go to work tomorrow.  Really can't say I am looking forward to it.  That is not a good thing but it just doesn't seem important.  Here's hoping I feel differently after the weekend.

Judi, what a time you have had with your step-daughter.  I hope she is able to beat the snow and get off to Dubai just to give you a break.  I agree with the others - her problems must seem huge to her so you are doing the best thing just letting her get on with it and listening from time to time.

Sorry you are not doing so good just now Gayle.  Lots of ((((((bug higs))))))xx.

Dot I always find you to be a huge support so I will happily hang on to you in the penguin huddle.  Since Chris's birthday yesterday I seem to have fallen into a bit of a 'leave me alone, I want to be on my own for a bit' state.  I wouldn't dream of telling any of my friends and family but I know I can share that on here.  I sort of want to hide away for a bit.  I will try hard to shake it off over the weekend.

Nipped back to the cemmy today and Chris's snowman was still there.

Glad to hear you and H are back safely Manda.  Take care everyone else.  Ailsa xxx

    Hi, everyone

well, this penguin can't go to work tomorrow either - the pipes are frozen,  so there is no water and the toilets don't work.

    shame.

    Sue xx

Ailsa, hang on there, the huddle will keep you safe but give you space at the same time. xx
