My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa

It's 118 miles for me - but I regularly drive just short of 200 to see Becky in Bracknell so I don't mind.  I might get the train though just for the freedom of being able to have a glass of wine and also not to have to think about parking.  Or you could drive to me Helen and I will drive us up - I'm not far off the M62 so I wouldn't be hard to find.

I found myself thinking about Christmas cards today - another obsticle!  Ailsa xx

I just googled it Patricia and it said 98 or 101 depending which route you take.  I didn't put any part of Leeds in though, I just typed Leeds.  If you live south of Leeds it could be a bit less than 98.  You and I live so near each other we should meet up anyway.  Ailsa x

    Hi everyone,

Doing alright here.  The house I was buying has fell through for the moment so I have decided to rent for a year and then I know exactly where I want to be.  The house I am renting is gorgeous so that helps lol!  It is a converted barn in the country so will be loads of space for the boys to play.

Newcastle is 180 miles drive for me according to Multimap so that will be fine.  I also use a forum that I joined when pregnant with Ewan and have made some great friends on there.  Wully always used to laugh and say they were my imaginary friends lol!  We did meet up with them once and it was a good laugh but Wully was too ill for us to go to the last 2 meetups.  Its amazing that you can meet some good friends online but I know what you mean Helen about telling people!

Ailsa - that was lovely about the photo album.  I know what you mean about cards.  The last couple of years at Christmas I just had cards made with a photo of the boys on the front and just had them printed love from our surname so I will probably just do that again this year.  So hard to even think about it isn't it?

Well just thought I would quickly check in and see how you all are.  Hope your days have been okay.

    Gayle xx

    Hi!!!!!

Today has been ok, busy at work but made myself go to the gym after.

Patricia I`m in Southport which is between Liverpool and Preston, Merseyside.

Not sure if I told you but at Paul`s funeral there were a large group of old friends from our high school who said they would like to do a charity / re- union night to remember Paul. Well that was nearly 5 months ago and they got in touch last week to say they want to organise something. They want to raise money maybe for me and the children to get something we would like. Not sure really but have started to wonder about some kind of memorial for Paul but not sure what???? Any ideas ladies??

I am meeting them on Monday evening to discuss how they will organise the night, they want me to be happy with everything. Will be something to focus on and might be fun!!

    Helen xxx

Hello everyone.  It is awful here - bucketing down.  Shame the house fell through Gayle but by the sounds of it it may be for the best in the end anyway if you are able to rent something nice.  Good luck with it.

My Mum & Dad just rang me from the Costa Brava - 25 degrees!  I hope Lynne's weather is as good.

I seem to have gone back to being very tired yesterday & today.  I will have to try to get some rest and see if that fixes it.  My breathing seems to have settled down at last so it must have been caused by anxiety.

How is everyone else this evening.  Ailsa xx
