My husband - Chris - died on the 2nd May 2009 because he had anal cancer. He knew he was going and we spoke about lots and lots of things before he died. That is why I am just not prepared for the huge amount of guilt I feel now. I feel guilty that the world hasn't stopped turning round even though he has died. I feel like everything should stop as a mark of respect. I also feel very guilty that he had to be so ill he had to die. What a cruel cruel thing it is to make someone so ill their body just stops working. I wasn't ready for him to go. I really really hope these are normal feelings because I must hang on to my sanity for the sake of my 3 children. I have never known sadness like I feel right now. I can't believe that I will not hear his voice or feel his touch again. We were married for almost 32 years and I have known Chris for 34 years - since I was 16. What happens now? Ailsa
Hi everyone,
Ailsa, so sorry you had such an upsetting afternoon yesterday. I too had a fight with Wully's bank today as they have done nothing even though I went into the branch months ago with all the necessary paperwork. They sent me another letter on Monday after I complained last week to say that they lost the death certificate and wanted me to go in again with it!!! I posted it to them with a stern letter and then today started getting automated phone calls looking for Mr T. Well I was mad and phoned them and gave them an earful.
Sorry to hear work has been rubbish Lynne - how terrible you got punched! Thankfully the week is over tomorrow.
Debs - hope your night at work goes okay - it will get better.
I haven't had much progress today on the house front today so will phone all the necessary people tomorrow and chase it up. We have to be out of our house 4 weeks tomorrow so I want to get it sorted very soon rather than adding more stress worrying about it.
On a good note I was plotting a map (very sad I know!!!) of some of our locations to try and see a midpoint and I came up with Newcastle? Geography was never hugely my strong point so opinions needed. If it is Newcastle I have seen some great hotels ranging in price from £60 to £90 with restaurants, bars, cafes in them and nice rooms. Let me know what people think. It would be nice to have something to look forward to.
Take care everyone.
Gayle xx
Hello again. I'm making up for lost time tonight by coming on here again before I go to bed. I have done a bit of card making tonight. A lovely colleague is leaving tomorrow and I was charged with buying his gift - we got him an MP3 player and some rather posh wine - so I had to make the tags with everyone's names on them. Then I needed to do a card from me. Thank goodness yet again for computers. I'm quite chuffed with the result so I hope he likes them as well.
I can't get over you getting punched by an old lady Lynne - I shouldn't be giggling but I can't help it. I hope you are okay though. Did it take long for your bench to go by Gordon's grave - I'm really excited now I've started on Chris's.
I've decided to get over the bank and their stupidity - my time will come and they will be for it when it does.
I've never been to Newcastle Gayle so I will be up for that. Well done. The prices are very good as well. It really would be lovely to meet some of you lovely people I speak to on here.
It is nice that you use your quiz winnings to go out in Sue. We do something similar at my work with our winnings from a small lottery syndicate we have. That has a couple of hundred pounds in it so far this year as well.
I have hedgehogs in my garden as well Dot. I love watching them snuffling around. I've only seen a fox once close to where I live but not again since. I see them when i am driving to work sometimes.
Has anyone got plans for this weekend yet? I am going out for a meal tomorrow evening with a friend and her work colleagues. I have 2 gates left to paint and some bulbs to plant so it would be nice if it stayed dry.
Take care everyone - I'm off to bed. Ailsa xx

Just popped in after a busy night at my sewing machine. I have been making a top for my sister. It is a halter neck and has big glass beads on it. I hope she likes it. Lynne, you'll have to learn to 'duck' lol. Some of these dear old ladies have the strength of an ox don't they. Going to the gym sounds a bit too strenuous to me. I have been thinking of going swimming but can't find a neck to ankle costume so will have to wait a bit longer lol. Debs, hope your shift went well. Gayle don't forget to order blankets, pillows and a heater when you order your bench lol. Ailsa, banks etc can be so insensitive. sorry they upset you. Hi, Helen, fiona, Dottee and Kaz.
I hope you all have a good night's rest and enjoy your day tomorrow. I am working tomorrow night but not doing anything of any interest over the weekend.
Love and angel hugs x x Patricia x x
Good morning everyone, I hope you are all feeling a little more upbeat today. Looking outside all I can see is a drizzly, grey day. I am determined that I am not going to match my mood to the day. So I have put on a yellow and white tee-shirt to brighten me up. I am going out to the post office shortly to post a parcel to my chemo buddy. She is a young lady with advanced breast cancer and as a 'chemo angel' I have to write to her and send a parcel at least once per week whilst she is in treatment. The poor girl has to endure letters telling her all about my family and what we get up to. I am not allowed to tell her anything negative though so she knows nothing of Ray's illness or passing.
At last it is Friday.... I have had three Friday's this week. Very confusing lol. I have to work tonight so am hoping that it will be a reasonable night. Mmmmm......... not much chance of that being a Friday and one of the busiest days of our week. Still, at least I am off tomorrow night and can do what I want.
I feel very calm today and that scares me because usually when I am like this I come down with a big bump later on. I hope it is just that I am dealing with things a little better. Time will tell.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Love and angel hugs to you all x x Patricia x x
Had a few tears today. No change there then. I just had a phone call from a nursing agency that Ray used to work for, asking for him. I felt so sorry for the lady at the other end of the phone because she felt bad for ringing. It was not her fault that she didn't know he had died. I was very nice to her and told her not to feel bad. It made me feel very sad though.
I have just watched a beautiful film called 'Mermaid' it is the true story of how a little girl called Desiree coped with her daddy's death. So moving. At the end they showed the real Desiree and her family. Of course wouldn't you know it, I cried. Again. (it made me think of you Gayle. a) because of the name 'Mermaid' and b) because the little girl was 4 going on 5.
I doubt that I will be on again today as I am working tonight. So I hope you all have a good evening.

Hi Gang , well i've had a better day even tho i caused chaos in the car show room but hey ho wouldn't be me if i didn't cause some kind of mayem lol. I had to take the ambulance car into the garage to get a new bulb , i hate going there but i had to do it on my way home , the boss told me they'd do it straight away , yeah right , i got there and they said take a seat someone will come out to you in about half hour WHAT all i wanted to do was go home , now its not like me to cause a fuss but i made a big thing about another appointment and i really couldn't wait half hour , the receptionist bought me a coffee to shut me up i think and said they would be out as soon as they could , well with that i was so distracted with the big display of balloons in the corner (honestly) that i knocked the coffee everywhere , even the receptionist was laughing , any way the car came back in about 5 mins so i was quite happy .. I didn't like saying my appointment was with a bench !!
Ailsa the bench didn't take long really once i'd phoned the cemetery superintendant , she got the workmen to put the paving stones down within a week , it was us that held it up as my son had to fetch it from S/D 's who live 2 hours away . Once we'd got it it went up the next day . They had to make brackets to fasten it down but it was all in place ready for when we were ., its great it does make a difference ..
Hope your feeling better Patricia now , what a time of it we.ve all had . The house must be so stressful for you Gayle , i hope you get it sorted soon you really dont need this .Newcastle sounds greattttt ...
2 MORE SLEEPS THEN OFF WE JOLLY WELL GO ................
Whats everybody else up too ?
