What's your grief is another group which is run by two Ladies , I think.Possibly American . They have words of advice for Widows, Podcasts . Tips and tools for coping etc. They send out E-mails with Articles ,Blogs and more

  • There is another webpage called The Widows collective . I'm having a look at that as well.

  • Thankyou, I will look at both of those.

This is looking like a list of possible links for people. I wonder if we could start a separate thread with links to resouces/ support we find helpful that may help others. Does anyone know if that alrwady exists here?

  • I'm a bit hopeless . I haven't found what I thought I was looking for on Way up. Maybe not doing it right . But I find it easier coming on here . Sorry if I go on so much.

  • Not at all breton. It all depends on what you are looking for. Im looking to connect with people locally but so far not many member in my area but I still visit Wayup and read posts and sometimes join the online socials, its company at least.

We all need an outley, its ok to say what you need to.

  • It's a shame some of us on here aren't in a group nearer . We seem to have such a lot in common. My Mum goes to a Dementia group coffee morning every 2 weeks . Father had Dementia last few years of his life. She's made a lovely friend who is like a sister . And everyone there is so good. I've stayed a couple of times . My elder sister loves to go with her and she gets really involved . I did say it's something I would like to set up when we moved , It would have been good for my Hubby as well to be more sociable . He missed having company. But now I don't feel up to organising anything..takes me all my time to organise myself. They have a quiz, a game of Bingo, Sometimes a little entertainment , The Volunteers who organise are Brilliant . Elizabeth sources lots of info. on what events are happening some free. Bob does the quiz or talks on a different subject which can be very interesting. All the Carers and their spouses or friends/family  really enjoy the morning out and it stimulates the brain. One day i might be able to drum up some enthusiasm to organise something similar. I don't think there are enough local groups for active over 50's . It's like everything else , that it takes dedicated Volunteers to start something up.
