Life insurance

Valen’s life insurance was through his work. 
They informed the company dealing with it (Zurich) and I’m lucky that they have already paid out.

It has pushed me into probate though, so I have bitten the bullet and got a solicitor involved. 
The solicitor will handle probate, paying the mortgage off and putting the house in my sole name. 
She is also going to handle my new will (didn’t think about that till she mentioned it!). 
And she will deal with all the brown envelope bumff from HMRC.

Have to say that is a huge weight off me.

Our mortgage is paid monthly by direct debit so the probate won’t affect it.

So I’m not sure why yours is taking so long.
Have you spoken to them?

Just emailed again today. 

He said they are waiting for the doctors report to come through.

I've told him it's stressing me out and affecting my health, but it's feels like a generic email with my name added.

He did apologise for the delay...... weeks ago.

Is that the doctor report from the GP or coroners office?

Actually, sin’t the doctors report what’s needed to obtain the certificate from the registrar office?

I guess like most organisations, quick to take money, loathe to hand it out.

Can you make this months mortgage payment?

A its a doctors report..... ugh.

Yes your right, quick to take the money, slow to payout.

Yes can just make payment, but annoyed and frustrated at life insurance company.

They just don't seem to understand, the stress of it all, bet none of them have lost someone.

I suppose it depends on the type of policy you had. Ours paid out within three weeks. The Death Certificate was enough. I.am sorry you are going through this. Financial security is part of our human need to feel safe. Horrible people. Sending hugs. Xxx

I think my husbands life insurance took nearly 3 months to pay out. Luckily our mortgage was paid off. As everyone says once they have your money they do not care. Good luck.
