Just realised that one of the many downsides of being widowed is the extra cost of going on holiday. I am going away with my sister and her husband for a week next month. Noticed when looking at the invoice that my room for single occupancy is more than £100 dearer than theirs. Seems like you get penalised for being on your own. I have been away with my sister for short breaks but we usually share a room so didn't really think about the cost of being a single traveller.
Just one more thing to cope with. It is just a year since Michael died and I felt it was ok to go on holdiay this year. I didn't go last year with them, although they asked but I didn't feel up to it as I would have felt like a spare part being on my own and although I still feel like that I am coping with it better.
Will try not to think too much about the extra cost but it just annoys me.
