Hello Everyone,
Seems like ages since we have all posted here although it may only have been a few weeks but sometimes this is just how it goes sometimes when you're on your own and time can drag by a bit. Just here to find out how everyone is hoping you are all bearing up ok. Can't believe we are into November already and almost another year is gone and everyone is beginning now to think of Christmas even though we have just got Halloween out of the way and Guy Fawkes is in two days. For me, this is the time of year I start to reflect over the last year about what I have or haven't done and how I could have managed so much more maybe if Jay were still here and we could have done things together. November is my birthday month too and I will be another year older (don't know about wiser) in a couple of weeks time. My new little granddaughter just turned 1 year old on the 23rd October- that was a quick year and my daughter in law has her birthday tomorrow (4th November) so its a little spate of birthdays too between now and Christmas my sister's being in December as well. Hope you are all well anyway and look forward to seeing your posts here soon. Take Care.

Hi vicky
Its beens 4 weeks almost since i first posted which only feels like yesterday given the circumstances.yeah i think this time of year is awful now in terms of reflection i had it for the past 10 years since my grandmother passed away who was basically my mother in so many ways but obviously now im going to be even more emotional with the events the past 5weeks but both girls with me have already bought each other xmas presents and are itching for our decorations to go up but i cant think of anything worst atm. I guess i will have to just accept reality and try and get into some sort of festive spirit as thats what my wife would have wanted.
We have 1 final hurdle with the burial of ashes tomorrow but only the 3 of us will be doing this so not a whole family kind of thing.
Strange how all families seem to have a cluster of birthdays all within weeks isnt it my family is july august where i think theres a total of 6 within 16 days.
Well im wishing you an early happy birthday
And thankyou for all the messages over these past couple weeks they helped massively and made not feel so alone
Ah Thank You GL.
Yes Jay was never a great one for Christmas and was a bit `bah humbug` about everything he would make an effort though for our son William when he was little but once he got older the magic sort of went out of it again for him but came back again for a wee while when our first granddaughter was born. In saying he never liked Christmas he did enjoy cooking and did a slap up Christmas dinner which he used to do for us all after my mum passed 30 years ago we always went to my mum and dads for Christmas dinner but when she passed it kind of passed to us to do the dinner and he took charge. His signature was the trifle for dessert we always had to have a big trifle. The baton for that now though passed to my son he has been doing Christmas dinner for myself and my sisterand themselves over the last couple of years and means I see my granddaughters on Christmas day too. Ironically this month my mum passed as well she passed from cancer too on the 16th November (1996) so I think too this is why I am so reflective in this month and to top it all we held her funeral on the 21st November (my birthday) but my dad bless him didn't even think about that at the time because his head would have been all over the place so really its a wee double celebration for me I raise a wee glass to myself and my mum. A nice way to remember her.
