I've just lost my dad to Cancer and I'm so angry as his death could have possibly been avoided had he had his treatment during COVID. His hospital appointments were continually cancelled so by the time he was seen, his cancer (that was under control pre COVID,) had spread aggressively and was told then that he had only a matter of weeks to live. He died a month later. I'm devastated at losing my dad and I don't know how to deal with the immense anger I hold within me.
Vern, I am so very sorry about your Dad - this is so rough and unfair. My condolences to you and all those you loved your Dad.
I would start by writing through PALS to complain about what happened and contact your local newspapers and get on social media to tell the story. Raise awareness of what happened to you and seek similar stories from others- they will come, likely in their dozens. You could gather this together to present to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and the CEO of the NHS - both responsible for the decisions taken to prioritise Covid over everything and everyone else last year.
Use your rage to highlight the injustice and honour your Dad's life this way - he was an important man to you. Fight back, would be my advice.
For now, my condolences, Vern - and stay well.
