I thought I would share a blog post I have written on my experience, a few of my friends have said it’s been helpful x
Hi Essjay88,
Thank you for sharing your blog. I have just read it and can completely relate to it having lost my mother, my best friend in November last year. It is beautifully written and so very true. Only the people who have been through this awful journey can truly understand. X x x
Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm so sorry you lost your wonderful mum. It's a year tomorrow for me and it feels so strange - it could be a minute ago, or a lifetime some days. I felt connected to much of what you've written here. Strength, love and compassion to you and to all who grieve xx
Hi Essjay,
I have just read your blog post and just wanted to say a massive thank you. I lost my mum 2 months ago to breast cancer just 4 weeks before my 22nd birthday. I wept the entire way through reading this but it really struck a chord with me. You highlighted so much of what I am feeling and made me hopeful that I will eventually learn the tools to deal with it.
I've been dealing with the empty promises thing a lot. People sending the obligatory 'I'm here for you' message and then never following up.
You're right there is something extremely profound about a daughter losing her mother in her 20s and I'm very sorry for your loss and very grateful that you shared your experience through this wonderful piece. It's now bookmarked on my laptop.
Thank you.
