Hi. Lost my Mum about 8 weeks ago. The MacMillan team were really helpful. Not just to her but to me and my family aswell (My Dad is also no longer with us)
Been getting on with things as best I can I suppose. Trying to keep life as normal as it can be. Kids took it hard but they're getting there.
Now just trying to get used to life with no parents. I've not sought out any help or anything (although I did agree to a counselling session that was offered - waiting to hear back on that).
I find things like this, asking for help and that really difficult. I just don't know many other people who are in the same situation as me. So here I am.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of your mum a short while ago but I'm glad to hear that the Macmillan team were really helpful.
You won't be the only person who finds asking for help difficult so I'm glad that you felt that you could reach out to this community. I hope that counselling will be available to you soon but while you're waiting you might find this information from Macmillan on coping with bereavement helpful.
I'm also going to tag this group's Community Champions DaveyBo and as they may be able to offer you further support.
x
