Just wondering if anyone on here could give me any advice. I lost my beloved mum last September. My 14 year old niece and my mum were very close. My niece is feeling very low and missing her grandma lots. Just wondering if there are any services here in Sunderland that might be able to offer any help/support to my niece. Any help would be much appreciated. x

  • Morning ,

I am sorry to hear your niece is feeling very low at the moment dealing with a death is difficult for us adults I can't image how your niece must be feeling. I can advice two things that maybe of help, 1) of course is phoning the helpline as they will have a list of services in your area or 2) if you want if you go to the main Macmillan site and click on "in your area" you then put your post code in and that gives a list and location of each services. I hope either of these will be helpful.

Sending a big hug to you both

  • Hi Sunny

Alongside the advice from Gbear have a look at this link which has some useful information and it also contains links to othe places for support such as Winston's Wish which is especially for young children.
