    It’s just one of those days which I want to last forever - I have just finished my third cycle of chemotherapy and enjoying a little normality. 

    I am sat reading with the patio doors wide open, the sun shining, a few fluffy clouds dotted here and there in the sky and a gentle breeze coming through taking the heat out of the sun. There is very little noise apart from the birds and the odd splash of a duck on the water…

  • A tribute to someone that made me smile at just the right time

    There are times in your life when you come across people that have an effect on your life. This is a tribute to one such lady, a lady who although I only knew for 48 hours, I am so pleased I met her and can’t thank her enough for making me laugh and smile when I was feeling pretty poorly.

    I have a great network of support and they have been there since first diagnosis in 2002 - they will do anything for me, all I have to do is ask and for that I am extremely grateful but it’s on days like today that I realise that ultimately it is me and me alone that has to take the tablets, deal with the side effects and keep going as best I can - if I don’t then it’s all been for nothing.     Lying awake at 4am having been awake since 2am your mind goes into overdrive, you think of anything and everything! At the moment this is a pretty standard night for me, the only time it has been different was on a recent week away to the Norfolk Broads where we were on a boat and what with the motion of the boat, the relaxation of holiday and the fresh air out on the water gave me 6 whole nights of uninterrupted sleep…
