It’s just one of those days which I want to last forever - I have just finished my third cycle of chemotherapy and enjoying a little normality.
I am sat reading with the patio doors wide open, the sun shining, a few fluffy clouds dotted here and there in the sky and a gentle breeze coming through taking the heat out of the sun. There is very little noise apart from the birds and the odd splash of a duck on the water.
Today has helped me to relax and regather myself for my next cycle - it has reminded me why I am taking those tablets because I want to have more days like these.
I am very lucky to have a home that backs onto the waters edge - it calms me and gives me a sense of peacefulness. Which I hope, come this evening will have had a positive effect on my blood pressure which has been higher than we would like.
Although you can never go a day without thinking about your illness in some way, whether it be taking your medication, dealing with the pain/discomfort or side effects, I am thankful of days like today when it makes those thoughts just that little bit easier and a little less important than the day itself!
