    So. I went and saw what all the fuss is about. My chic velcro powered top is funky and facilitates a 'full monty' type undressing by the radiologist after I am strapped to the table in the machine. Mask feels tighter than I remember, but still bearable. Whirr, buzz, clang, all done for day one.

    Wife says 'let's go and get some shopping', so I agree to a wizz round Tesco. They also have a new machine where…

    I'm just killing time now until my appointment time - 15:12 pm to be precise, though I have been asked to attend early, presumably to be issued with the RT uniform of choice for the duration of the treatment.

    I had the mask made up on my previous visit, slightly uncomfortable, but I can imagine how unpleasant the experience would be for anyone remotely claustrophobic. Then a CT scan wearing the mask with an injection…
