There are moments when you look at your other half and feel suffused by a bubble of total love (well, hopefully!). It starts in your heart, rises up and breaks somewhere around head level, normally leaving you with a dopey grin and an "ah, bless" sensation. This has often been the case with me and A - and generally I find it particularly enchanting when he is talking about art or culture or politics or religion and gets…

You know that really freaky picture they used to show on the beeb - the one with the little girl with the Mona Lisa-esque creepy-slightly-too-knowing smile and the scary sinister clown doll (to me clowns are frightening enough - I never recovered after reading Stephen King's "It" when I was in my early teens, it's that gaping red rimmed toothy grin that always sends me hiding behind the cushions, and as for Dolls- I have…

He is never normally sick you see - I can only think of once while we have known each other that he was poorly with a really bad cold, which I had too. Normally…

Yay!!!!! In an unbelievable twist A is now doing so very well that the doctors are letting him home! He has walked round the ward, eaten several regular meals, farted and passed the required amount of other substances from his person. It's fantastic! I can't wait and am in cushion plumping mode in anticipation. I am sure that it will end up being 9 o'clock tonight before they finally release him as it always takes ages…
