c For anyone who may be interested in how amazing the body actually is at healing.  The first picture was 1 week post op.  The wound was as deep as they could go. The second picture was 12 weeks later.  It is my calf.  The scar now measures 10cm by 7 cm.  You'll notice the second picture also shows what is left of my previous operation.  That scar is 10 years old.  By the way, I was standing in front of a mirror to take this…

Well it's now 4 weeks since the operation.  I have had a proper bath every day since Saturday.  I have soaked the wound and now moisturise it often during the day.  It is tender and I am struggling to walk properly unassisted so physio was recommended.  Guess what - end of June is the soonest I can get.  I tried my BUPA cover and there are no BUPA registered physiotherapists on IOM! Looks like I'll have to foot the bill…

    Hi fellow MM's,

Is anyone on the Scancell trials for SCIB1? Afriend sent me the article in the Daily Mail recently which says trials start in 2010 in Manchester, Nottingham & Newcastle and I am wondering who knows what and what the criteria is to qualify. To all my Wonderful Friends who have really helped with this.  I can now start to accept my new leg.  I can see the daily improvement and I know from last time that the resultant scar will improve as the years go by.  I have included a pic of my graft donor site which my darling Dougie (my cat) stuck his claw in today and made bleed!  No serious harm done- it was his show of affection!  The other pics - if I get this right…

    If you painted your life

If you painted your life, would it mostly be grey?
With rare flames of scarlet for each special day
And odd strands of silver where you kept your illusions
Mixed in with the blues showing times of confusion.

If you painted your life, would there be storms?
For the times you lost courage and agreed to conform
Perhaps you’d paint stars, one for each dream
    That gave life a meaning…
