Sublingual Salivary Gland Cancer- my journey

Things are definately hurting more today. Sore patch on my throat that makes swallowing tricky. Warm water seems to be less irritating than cold water.

My tongue is feeling quite sore again. I have been upping the oramorph ( as I was told) and am now in 4.5ml every 4 hours. Still doesn't seem to send me woozy so that's good.

Having real problems getting the mouth/ tongue guard in for radiotherapy but everyone…

Everything hasn't been too bad over the weekend again. Last night I slept Through from 2 till 6 am which is the longest I've had in ages. It was review day today, so after I was zapped I saw the registrar, dietician and nurse. I got told off for loosing weight and for not upping my Oramorph dose. Last week I was told to move it up to 5ml but I didn't feel that I needed it. I also found the 2.5 ml didn't cause a problem…

It's the weekend, and I seem to have been hit by tiredness. Feeling shattered today. Went for a walk earlier and have now come back to bed. I am starting to feel a bit fed up about not being able to eat too at the moment. I have tried soft puddings such as rice pudding and I can swallow them but everything tastes so salty. So the Ensure drinks are about the only thing that doesn't seem to taste of salt. The variety…

Day of rest apart from the zapping at 4pm today. Didn't see anyone else after yesterday's session as the nurse was doing something else and they said they would see me if required but I had Nothing new to report so decided not to. Quite tired again yesterday after the trip into work, so fell asleep quite early. Red patches are showing up more in my face now, you can actually see rectangles of the treatment…

Definately got some longer spells of sleep last night which was good, but it meant each time I woke up I'd missed a drug time by about an hour so things were a bit more uncomfortable, but quick to get back off to sleep again. Thursday I usually see the nurse but today the paper work says some other kind of review too. Planning to go into work for a couple of hours later, so will update later.
