That's me, okay at the moment. Technically there is "no evidence of disease", but it came back in May, less that a year since the primary and has a high incidence of recurrence. Some days I'm grateful not to have chemo cos it sucks, some days I get really depressed and wish I could cos I want the reassurance, but I know it has no effect on my type of cancer (angiosarcoma). This week I'm worrying about the bowels, every…

I had some good news and some bad news from the hospital today. The lovely professor said that I am back in remission and to go and enjoy the summer. The bad news is that I am not permitted to do high impact sports, rugby, boxing that kind of thing. I like things in order, bit of a controller, I like to know what's happening and complete one thing before I start the next. Trouble with cancer, it does what it wants and just won't behave. When they told me the cancer had returned, I'd been so busy worrying about the lab results from the op that I hadn't really thought about the mechanics of the op. Fortunately it went without a hitch (apart from lack of furniture . . . . ) and I'm just waiting to have the stitches out Monday, must be getting better because it itches. Anyway, the news I've been waiting for/dreading - consultant rang me with the lab results…

Well they threw me out of hospital a day early, said I looked far to healthy to be kept in, so Sunday my drain and I came home. The bad news: we have no furniture. A few months ago we ordered new sofas and had a call 2 weeks ago that they were ready. Last week in a highly complicated 3 way move, we gave away our old sofas (had to be that weekend when everyone was around and we had access to a van). New sofas due to…
