I used to work because I love my job, I still love my job but after some serious consideration I realised I now work because I still get free private medical cover as part of my salary package. I can see me commuting up to London well past retirement age just to keep the cover. Whilst the treatment isn't any different privately (I'd still be under the Royal Marsden Hospital) everything is sorted out much faster. Thus…

I need a rant - it's not fair . . . . . it's just not fair . . . . . I'm not a happy bunny. I finished treatment back in October 2008 and went for my first check up January 2009. I had my second check up 2 weeks ago where I mentioned a swelling on my spine. Dear all Last year I rashly offered to look into organising a get-together in South London / Surrey, around March (to celebrate 12 months of "what now"). I couldn't get hold of a FREE hall or similar so have scrapped that idea. Undaunted, I'm aiming to hold a get-together in the summer, say end July / beginning of August. My place is too small to consider an indoor event but we have a fairly large communal garden we…

Sadly I can no longer join in with you wonderful people in the chatroom. My main access to the website is via the company computer and they have a block on chatrooms etc. I had exceptional permission granted but this was temporary until I was deemed to be recovered - so being fit and well I "no longer need access". I will so miss those strange random chats, as well as the support when I'm having a down day and those nasty…
