I forgot to say that my sons stoped taking any medication-including the cyclosporin--so not only is he running around like the fittest person in the world-but for approx 4mnths now he's not taken any medication either........

Thankyou everyone-all your positive thoughts must've worked, I was with son today, as they reduced the amount of paralizing drugs, & see if he'd come round. He started taking the odd breath for himself....they took him off the machine, & he is now breathing unaided-(except he has oxygen still). The tube's out of his throat, & 'venflon' in wrist with about Six attachments is gone-he's attached…
What I saw today will haunt me for life...my son, lying on a hospital bed, with tubes everywhere-he's on a bypass machine; something else is BREATHING for my son! He's 'paralised' from a 'drug induced coma', got something breathing for him, has got a tube in neck, with about 6 attachments, tubes down throat, tummy, arms. A catheter. Something to aspirate the green fluids oin his tummy!!! Jeez...…
Well today son started the chemo,GEMPLASTIN(?) which he'll have to have for next 3wks-once wkly, to 'keep on top of things', as specialist put it, until he's admitted at Uni Hosp Euston for transplant.
He'll be going in on tues 2/12/09 for 6wks-ish, for transplant of donated stemcells-donor has been found. I havnt seen transplant team yet to now how close a match it is.
