It’s been over a month since I was on here last and a lot has happened.
My December Chemo wasn’t that great, I felt ill after both lots with the one on Christmas Eve being the worst. My taste buds went haywire and everything tasted like nothing you would really want to eat! Christmas dinner was awkward as I’m sure you can guess, all that time preparing and cooking it and it didn’t taste great but my wife understood. My tongue feels quite sore although looks fine, the front of it feels like it would if you had drunk a too hot cup of tea or coffee and as I have said stuff just tastes strange..
During my appointment with my consultant in December I was told that they hoped my Chemo would be finished with after my last lot on the 24th and that I would have a PET scan and if all was OK I would then start Radiotherapy.
I was referred to another consultant in December for Radiotherapy and had a mask made ready for the next stage of treatment. The new consultant gave me all the details about Radiotherapy and explained the side effects.
I was sent for a PET scan last week (3rd Jan) and I got my results yesterday (7th Jan). My Cancer is now in remission and I just have to wait for appointments for Radiotherapy.
I will post a few more times during my Radiotherapy.
