I've never been a 'cryey' sort of female. I'm not a drama queen at all, and am quite practical and 'sensible'. But my God, my emotions have never been so near the surface in all my life. After getting goodish results from my own PET scan last month, I've started to go out more, socialise more etc, and as some of you will know, my son's biopsy results were great, so begun to pick up threads of former life. So went to this…

Aaaaaargghh! Just been reading some old blogs/posts etc, as my husband was watching golf - and read back the blog I left earlier. Was disgusted with myself, sounded sooo ungrateful/awful, there are lots of people worse off than me. I'm ok at the moment - tumours shrunk, feeling fine - and my son's results were good. Well, went to hospital yesterday with my mum, my daughter in law was already there (they've only been married for 10 months) she has been fantastic, and must be so difficult for her as she doesn't speak English fluently yet (she's Peruvian) but she's really looking after him. He still had tube up his nose…

Well, on Monday my son had his operation to remove an 11cm tumour from his left side. Up until then, him, and myself had had the most efficient, fantastic treatment from Endocrine team, and then pre-admission, the surgical team. We sat waiting in the ITU waiting room, and after 3 and half hours we suddenly saw him being wheeled past in a bed. I don't think that image will ever leave my mind. Anyway, once in ITU, the surgeon…
