I was diagnosed last Friday, it's all been a bit of a whirlwind.  I have grade 2 and was discussed at a 'planning' meeting today.  I find out my plan on Tuesday morning via a telephone appointment.

The waiting is so hard, I am so worried that they won't be able to do anything for me.

  • Hi Millymollymandy2025

Welcome to the Womb group. I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis and remember what a tough time it can be.

    The waiting is really hard.

It sounds like they have discussed your case at the multi disciplinary team meeting and that your follow up on Tuesday is to find out the plan.

Endometrial cancer, particularly at the earlier stages is normally a very treatable cancer.

For most ladies, where medically possible, they are offered a hysterectomy in the first instance. Where they can, it tends to be done via key hole. Mine was in April 2022 and was fairly straightforward. I was home the next day, had little pain and recovered quickly. After the surgery everything that is removed is sent to pathology and checked. It is these results that suggest whether any further treatment may be needed.

It may be helpful, when you are ready to have a look at this info. It may help you think of any questions you may have before Tuesdays phone appointment.

It can be a worrying time but I found that once I had my treatment plan in place, it did feel a bit easier. I wish you well for Tuesday and in the meantime if there is anything you need, please do ask.

We also have the Support Line available from 8am-8pm daily, if you feel like talking things through would help.
