Hi, over Christmas i had such a sore back and was peeing blood so doctor sent me for an mri scan incase it was kidneys. Whilst waiting on scan i started bleeding for about 2 weeks on and off and bloody discharge a couple of times.. had a renal ct scan and all came back ok nothing shown.. apart from a coil thats been there for over 20 years they had scanned  me then and said it must have fallen out. Its in the wrong place totally.. 5 years ago very heavy bleeding and they done a ca 125 and it was over 400 so fast tracked to gynaecologist . Womb lining was 19 mm coil  fitted and biopsy taken . 2 weeks later phone-call to say endometrial hyperplasia ca125 went back down .. Hysteroscopy  Done all was ok sent away no further action till now..my doctor sent a referral after my ct scan to do with the misplaced coil not my bleeding she had said since it has went away come back if it starts again so i contacted them myself and told them about bleeding so was seen very quickly by a gynaecologist she done an tvs ultrasound said all looked well and coil that is in place is doin its job but took a biopsy to rule out cancer.. 4 weeks in still waiting i have telephoned and still waiting on results.. in menopause. Cbc bloods were normal.. the worry is terrible.. sorry for long post.

  • Hi 50's lady

    Welcome to the Womb group.

I am sorry to hear that you have had some bleeding and well done for getting it checked out. It seems somewhat reassuring that your TVS seems promising. It is normal to take a biopsy in these circumstances and it is to rule out cancer. Only a biopsy can do this.

Waiting for any results is always tough and it can be hard to think of anything else. As it has been 4 weeks, it should hopefully be very soon. I know sometimes there can be a delay if the hospital is busy. Just to reassure you that the time taken for the results to come back is not an indication of whether they are good or bad.

Although it is hard to not think about the results I found that trying to stick to my normal day to day routine helped. Talking to friends and family also helped. I just tried to keep as busy as I could. If you do feel talking things through would help, then please do give the Support Line a call.

I hope that you hear something very soon and can get the reassurance you need. We will be here either way.

    Jane
