Hey Ladies! Iam Lilly n new to the group.
I've been reading some of your posts n wondered if anyone could give me some advice? I had a hysterscocspy under GA 3 weeks ago.. Referred as urgent when out of the blue I started bleeding post menopausal.
I've not had any consultation with a GYN doc yet. After procedure they informed me I had a Endometrial Biopsy n poll removal. They said they wud write to me with the results in 2 weeks. That was 3 weeks ago... Is this normal practice? I've read some members have waited weeks due to current NHS staff shortages etc.
Also can you hurry them up with results.
Thanks Lillyx
Hi, different hospitals do things differently. I was told I’d get my results by phone two weeks later, but when I hadn’t heard anything in over two weeks, I phoned and spoke to the gynae secretary who told me that my results had narrowly missed the Friday morning MDT meeting for that week (this is wheee all results are discussed), and would be discussed the following Friday instead. I was phoned about 11am the following Friday,
Yes.. Different policies ar different hospitals Just wish if was sooner rather than later!
Thx for ur reply Marmite
My biopsies took between 2-3 weeks, and have usually been by letter, apart from the most recent ones following polyp removal and those results took 6 weeks - I hope you get your results soon, the waiting is awful x
Hi Emilyrose.
I had my hysteroscopy a couple of months ago. I chased the surgeon's secretary after 2.5 weeks and that got me answers same day.
There is usually a phone number or email address on the procedure paperwork to get you direct to the right team.
OK... Will have a look at paperwork. I was under the impression that they don't give results out over phone unless there's nothing significantly wrong? Because I presented initially at A & E I never saw consultant.
When I went in for pre ops etc just saw a sister.. They seem very reluctant at my local hospital to give you much information. I thought I wud of spoken to surgeon after hysterscocspy as I had a GA.
Thx anyways Crumpetsx
