I really pissed off my robotic hysterectomy was tomorrow. They called me today to say it was cancelled. A day before ffs I had everything planned. But now they want a CT scan because MRI detected enlargement of lymph nodes in my uterus.
they think it's advanced but haven't gave me a grade . It's stage 1 . But reluctant to give me a grade. So CT scan is worrying
the doctor was so robotic and uncaring. He kept saying sorry about that over and over. With no empathy or compassion
mum ber annoyed and upset
So I'm in pain 24:7 no pain killers given. Doctor prescribed a hormone to stop me bleeding. I think not . Not happening no hormones thanks I will deal with blood loss . You bloody shifted my surgery because you want a CT scan. Yes I'm angy yes I'm disappointed because I've been let down again for the 4th time. I get why you want it . But a day b4 surgery. That's wrong. I don't suffer mentally but now I am . This has broke me .
Hi Mariab
I am so sorry to hear that your surgery has been cancelled at the last minute. I can understand why you are frustrated. I know for me it was a big build up to having the surgery and if it was postponed at the last minute- I would have been gutted.
I did not know my grade before surgery and only was told that it could be stage 1 or 2.
It sounds like they want the CT done before surgery to check the lymph nodes as sometimes these are removed during surgery to have further testing. So I wonder if this is why they want the CT. I hope that they do it as soon as possible so the surgery can go ahead
I am sorry that you did not find your doctor more compassionate.

I can understand you feeling angry and disappointed- particularly as it is the 4th time.
I am sorry to hear that you are in pain- could your GP prescribe some pain relief perhaps? My GP was able to prescribe certain medications that I needed during my treatment.
I can understand your reluctance to take any hormones at the moment but the hormone. Whilst some endometrial cancers can be affected by certain hormones- they can also be used to treat cancer. It depends on which hormone you were given. Progesterone is used as a treatment- sometimes a coil and sometimes tablets.
We have the Support Line available from 8am-8pm everyday and you could give it a call in the morning and talk directly to one of the nurses who would be able to check which hormone treatment you have been offered and why.
One thing I remember is my cancer nurse saying that prolonged or heavy bleeding could be a problem if it is soaking through a pad in an hour or if there is pain and clots. In these circumstances she told me to call NHS 111 for advice.

This site is reputable and the Online Community is made up of people that are affected or worried about cancer and there are also volunteers- like myself- who will come on and offer support where we can offer it.
The Online community is supported by the Online community team who can be contacted directly. community@macmillan.org.uk if you have any concerns.
Hi Mariab
Although the Online Community is available 24 hours a day when you post it can take a while for someone who is in similar circumstances to see your post and offer support. The Community Champs are volunteers who check in when they can and help out.
At some points in the day it may be quieter on here, particularly later in the day.
We do have the Awake and up all night - Macmillan Online Community thread that may be helpful.
If you want to speak to someone and get support straight away- rather than wait for other Online Community users to respond- then the best way is to give the Support Line a call. (8am-8pm 7 days a week)
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
