Hi there everyone, I just want to say thank you to everyone, the diagnosis was a shock even though I knew, but it's the hearing it said out loud eh! You are all such a huge support, and I appreciat every one of you. We are all in this together
My hospital is the same as Waidh’s so my MDT met on a Friday - I was rather lucky as I had my MRI on the Tuesday and my CNS phoned me on the Thursday to say the results were back and would be seen by the MDT the following day - and offered me a face to face appointment the next day too in anticipation of that. So only three days’ wait for me.
It is a shock to hear it out loud. I remember being phoned with my diagnosis and although expecting it- it still felt surreal. I was lucky in that I had already had my CT done so knew it was early stage. It was then a couple of weeks before I saw the consultant but then things moved quickly. Good luck with the scans and do let us know if there is anything you need.
Annousks, I suggest you ask your CNS when your MTD meet as it will help you. I think your consultant may have been being evasive or obtuse lol as all hospitals have MTD meetings for this and it’s always the same morning or afternoon each week.
Hi thanks MarmiteFan I've not got a CNS yet. The consultant said they'd probably have been contacting me on Tuesday but I never got any msgs or calls yet
Hi again Annousks, if you wanted to, it would be quite in order for you to contact your consultant’s secretary again and ask for the contact details of the CNS.
And perhaps ask the secretary when the MDT takes place. It will so help you to know when this is, as everything has to go through the MDT first before they let you know. It’s one thing waiting, but slightly easier when you know how long you may be waiting. X
I agree Waidhs, as the secretary will know the relevant weekday too!
If you look on the website for your hospital and go to gynae dept- it may say the day of the MDT- mine did. You can also email your consultant's secretary and ask for a CNS to contact you/get contact details
