So just got back from my 1 year post end of treatment CT scan, and god did I get worked up beforehand, perhaps lack of sleep as it was so hot last night didn’t help! Next clinic appt in 3.5 weeks time, so have just emailed nurses if they can let me know results when they get them, don’t want to be stressing longer than I need to. Can’t believe the year is up
Bless you - it’s totally understandable. I wonder if it might have brought up triggers from treatment as well as the understandable worry about recurrence. About a year after my radio I saw a news item on South Today about some new targeted radiotherapy machines at Southampton - and proceeded to break down and sob for a few mins, so random as it came totally out of nowhere and I was feeling fine before. I hope our CNS team is as good now as it was then and gets your results to you asap - I imagine Friday is still MDT day?
Yep Friday still MDT day, one of the CNSs when I had my 3 month scan said they didn’t like people waiting a long time for results, and my next clinic appt was put in for exactly 3 months after last one, and before appts for Dexa scan and CT scan were booked, so im hoping they will sort something for me. Xx
Yep had that 3 weeks ago. CNS has replied saying she will ask to get my clinic appt brought forward a week
Have you had the results of your DEXA? Mine came through on my NHS app.
No, not seen them in app which only seems to show GP ordered tests and my oncologist ordered the test and said results would go to him first. There’s the hospital app but I get a notification if anything is added to that.
Ah ok, I’ve remembered now - I put a call in to my oncologist’s secretary asking if they could be released to my app!
Yep, nothing on CT scan…slight thinning of one bone in DEXA scan, slightly low vitamin D levels….usual external/internal checks …all good. Next CT scan in a years time. I can’t tell you how much it’s been on my mind since I had the scan.
