Blood clots

I had a single PE about 3 yrs ago and after a course of dalteparin  injections was bridged to Apixaban 5mg twice a day which I will be on for life due to my higher risks if getting more clots. 

A&E gave me a 5 day supply of Inhixa. I presume it’s up to my GP to assess what I should do going forward?

Yes most likely. My oncology team prescribed the apixaban initially then wrote to my gp and asked them to take on the prescription. I have an annual review by the surgery pharmacist but my oncology team have always advised me to stay on it because blood clots are a side effect of my maintenance treatment. So the gp surgery accepts that. Make sure to get your prescription renewed before the 5 day supply runs out. Its important to maintain the levels in your blood.
